It's sad that humans are always pushing everything to the animals while ignoring their own roles in the messes.

In this case, it's even more sad as all these are happening because the pigs can only say 'oink'!

Swine flu killed one before the vaccine became available, don't know how many death it prevented or other morbidity issues.

Has PETA made it's move? lol
Due to several complaints, I will stop using the terms "Babe" and "Baby" in reference to our female counterpart. They will now be replaced with "B*tch."

That outbreak was likely as benign, or more benign than the current one. Besides the deaths, the vaccine (which was hastily put together) also caused health and physical problems in many people.

Both instances showed crazy over-reaction (though the first time round can be excused due to the 1918 flu epidemic) and scientists who kept changing their opinions are of no help.

We like to overtreat and sometimes forget the side effects. The media is pretty good at spreading fear.

Melbourne- one of the capital of the swine flu.

Pretty funny cause we got macfarlane burnett institute in this city which is one of the foremost infectious disease/immunology research center in the world.

WHO just raised the alert to Level 6, the final and highest level - means it's a Pandemic level. Hope they will not close border, or else I will stuck here .

In Malaysia, there are people who were infected not because they return from US or Mexico but from other country which is scary. Means the infection can be happen anywhere now.

Seriously, the death rate right now is less than 3%, this is lower than normal seasonal flu.

The only thing worth mentioning is that if this thing mutate we are in a deep neck of the wood, but having said that, avian flu has yet to mutate to have the mass transmission like this swine flu and we had been worrying for years.

So lesson is, this virus spreads like wild fire, this virus do not kill like wild fire.

Yeah, we are very lucky for that, most of the people infected, recover in time. I just don't understand why only the one infected in US/Mexico/South-America died, while from other countries recover from it.

think one or two people in Chicago (IL, USA) died and myself got case of regular flu couple weeks back. all over the news here (back in April) how we are short on Tamiflu.

I just hope the flu doesn't come back stronger in the winter!

I wonder if the virus has mutated. From a relatively benign virus, it suddenly starts killing a truckload of people worldwide.

Yeah I am hearing all these ICU cases here now. And a decent proportion of them die from resp failure. And it's trimodal too - affects not only very young and old, but also a minipeak at 20s.

Hopefully winter will end and the swine flu can go back up North, where they are more prepared.

Why do you have so much hatred for people of north that you wish them death? As for myself, I hope the scientists will find the cure soon so that no one will suffer from it again.
