Default Do you think you'd make a good criminal?

Hopefully, nobody out there is secretly a criminal, but just as a hypothetical exercise...

Have you ever contemplated the scenario of becoming a criminal? Have you ever, just as an imaginary exercise that you would never carry out, planned the "perfect" bank robbery, jewel theft, or murder? How successful do you see yourself being if you did become a criminal?

From the psychological point of view, to solve a (likely sophisticated) criminal case, the officers (in the specialised department) usually are required to momentarily think like a criminal. For cases like murder, especially. The drama Criminal Minds relates to real life.

Personally, I think I would, provided, when I work with a team if we're talking about robbery.

I wouldn't commit crime for monetary reason, period. You always can earn the money the right way by hard work. That is the main reason why I have absolutely no sympathy/compassion for criminals whatsoever.

    Hey a WIN thread.

Honestly, I don't have the risk taking quality. Unlikely I will hedge a bet on everything. Knowledge wise and intinct etc. I don't think I am near those famous ones on the big screen, but better than the America's dumbest criminals. Skillwise, I think once can learn something they specialise in, but don't find I have a natural flair in say explosives or driving or cracking safes. Maybe I will be ok at planning.

I think everyone here will fail the psychological part, that's why, hopefully, they are not criminals. But maybe some of us will think differently if put in a different environment. I can totally see TC pulling off a mega race genocide, or hunting sharks etc.

Hmm, I've fantasized myself as a vigilante or serial killer many times before. It's always fun doing the imagination but I don't think I will make a good one. I don't have the heart or stomach for the real thing so I will stick to the pictures in my head.

Well, if I really have the heart to do some hanky-panky, I'd come pretty close to a dodgy character like Matt Damon in Oceans Eleven. Hmmm, or maybe one third of Frank Abagnale! I can be that schemy, and I.... (leave it to your imagination) So, yes, I buy risk!

So, looks like I'm the dodgy one here?

You mean like actually sit down and plan something "for fun"? If anyone actually did that, then it's more than just fantasizing.

If it never got down to that, then it's just a passing fantasy and it'd be hard to answer your question.
What are you fighting for? Just mix them into pissing beef balls, stupid.

I think if I had no other option, I'd steal food.
And if I was in a kill or be killed scenario I'd kill.

I have always thought I would be an excellent hitman as I'm pretty sneaky and leave no trace of evidence.

But you fantasized about being a serial killer?? OMG!!!!

If I ever became a criminal, the only thing I would probably do is bootlegging or conferteiting.

I think anyone who has a high i.q., smart, clever have the potential to be an excellent criminal. For this reason, I think I would make a good criminal. Conversly I would make a great detective too. I seem to have a knack for problem solving.(not mathematics)

Oh if I were a criminal, i would prolly sell dope.
Due to several complaints, I will stop using the terms "Babe" and "Baby" in reference to our female counterpart. They will now be replaced with "B*tch."

oGaKirA, we'll make a good team...I'm good with destruction, can even use geometry in real time along with my 6th sense to bounce hand grenade off a wall and kill the guy running behind me.

But to answer the question, I would make a good criminal. I don't have the mastermind, but if put in a good team, I have great potential.

actually robbery sound pretty fun. though i'd definitely need a team to do the "work" for me since "grace" isn't my middle name. though i would LOVE to be the mastermind.

I would be an awful criminal. I'm awful at lying, clumsy, and have hemophobia.

I'm with you, I can't even tell a lie with a straight face (sigh, it is so inconvenient) and I am too much of a coward. With my intellect, planning a workable crime strategy will give me a headache.
