Arsenal sign Ajax defender Vermaelen. A good signing for Arsenal. He should help bolster the weakest part of the team.

Is Arsenal getting rid of Silvestre yet? Meanwhile, Roque Santa Cruz looks set to join Man City.

I haven't seen anything regarding Silvestre, although it seems like a lot of Arsenal fans are desperate to see him leave. There are some rumors about Eboue wanting to leave.

Tevez has supposedly ruled out going to Liverpool.

Depends on whether the American league would let him go. He's supposed to be an attraction for them, and they are paying him big money.

Man Utd is taking too long, and has tested Tevez's patience. I hope he will stay. 30 million for Berbatov is a waste.

Beckham makes an insane amount of money and i think a lot has to do with his superstar looks. Same with Sharapova in tennis. She makes crazy endorsement money. I mean she's skilled and all, but its her looks that puts her over the top in endorsements.

Tevez will not be returning to Man United.

I think United has handled the Tevez situation badly. They tried to sign for less than his market value after under-utilizing him the past few seasons. Did they really think he was going to feel any loyalty to the club ?

I hope he leaves. I thought that it was a mistake to sign him in the first place. He sold a lot of shirts and brought attention to the League, but he is a very one dimensional player at this point in his career. He has in general been average or worse as a player in MLS. LA should sell him for whatever they can get to a club that needs to sell some jerseys.

All the best to Tevez then. He's been a very good player for Man Utd. Can't believe we got Berbatov in return for Tevez. Sigh.

With all due respect to Hull, but Owen is really hitting a new low.

Does he still want a high pay? Because he don't deserve a sky-high pay any more, considering that he is now more of a liability, a sick note.

Blackburn's Matt Derbyshire moves to Olympiakos.

Blackburn also lost Roque Santa Cruz to Manchester City.

I hope the club has got good replacements for them.

So Real Madrid has captured Kaka and C. Ronaldo (who still can't keep his big mouth shut), what are the chances of the Spanish club prising Xabi Alonso away from Liverpool?

Were you expecting anything different from CR?

I would be surprised if Liverpool let Alonso leave. Given that they came reasonably close to winning the league this year and with CR and Tevez leaving United, Liverpool must be thinking that next year will be their year.

There are reports that Real Madrid is intersted in Benzema. It almost seems that Real is more interested in signing names than building a team. they were second in goals scored but seventh in goals allowed despite having one of the best keepers in the world. They need help in the back and as of yet they haven't addressed that problem at all.

And are you surprised at that? The man responsible for the Galacticos era is back, and no doubt he's started the second Galacticos era. Florentino Perez cares only for big names and shirt revenues.

To be honest I am surprised. I believed Perez when he said that he had learned from the mistakes of the first Galaticos era. I guess I am bit naive.

I'm not. I always knew what Real Madrid is in for if he ever becomes President again. Let's just see if things work out. Because I don't like Real Madrid and has got a vicious streak, I hope things fall apart. BADLY.

Can't wait to see Kaka leave this terrible club and laugh at C. Ronaldo.

As a Barcelona fan I certainly hope that things don't work out for Real Madrid. Perez may have learned something after all as Real have apparently signed Raul Albiol from Valencia.
