Yes, you heard that right... (albeit in Spanish)... I no longer love SWORD GOD Zhuo Bufan.

Why, you may ask.

Well, let me just say, that the reasons for me to like him in the first place, were not substantial.

What exactly did SWORD GOD Zhuo Bufan do to deserve my love?

He is someone who reached the peak of perfection in the field of swordplay. But he is not the only one. Demonic Swordsman Dugu Qiubai also likely attained the same feat, though the author didn't explicitly use the same exact description ("peak of perfection").

Yes, we know that SWORD GOD transmitted voices clearly via mountain ranges of 3 to 5 miles. But so have the Greats in ROCH. In fact, it was said that Reverend Yideng was capable of transmitting voices over a distance of several miles. So as you can see, SWORD GOD's feat is not any better than that of a ROCH Great.

Sure, SWORD GOD also inflicted an external wound on Duan Yu, which he managed effortly. But is that really any more impressive than GREAT WHEEL MONK Jiumozhi's palming of Duan Yu, which knocked him unconscious? Although we have to account for SWORD GOD's lack of intention to really hurt Duan Yu, but even if he did want to hurt Duan Yu, I bet he could not have done so any better than Jiumozhi.

And yes, before you bring it up, I'm aware that SWORD GOD performed the rare feat of Single Stance Execution (SSE), which evoked the fear of Tianshan Tonglao in people's mind. But that's it: he's only as good as the CHILD MISTRESS OF HEAVENLY MOUNTAIN Tianshan Tonglao! Also in HSDS, it's well documented that Zhang Sanfeng is capable of the same sort of SSE.

OK, I'll admit that SWORD GOD did perform a couple of feats which are not seen elsewhere in the Jin Yong universe, such as tossing an object over a mountain of 3+ miles. But let's not forget that there are others in the universe who were also unrivaled in their own feats. To name one: Shi Potian was able to "jump across the ocean." No one else has done that either.

As you can see, there is no substantial evidence that SWORD GOD is truly unparalleled compared to Dugu Qiubai, ROCH Greats, Jiumozhi, Tianshan Tonglao, Zhang Sanfeng, or Shi Potian. So why should I like him so much? After all, he's just a distinguished ELOC who performed some extraordinary feats within his brief appearance. But like I said, the ROCH Greats, Zhang Sanfeng, Dugu Qiubai et al are perfectly capable of replicating similar feats. So what's so special about an ELOC who can perform Great-level feats or above?!
