Giant rat discovered

A new species of giant rat has been discovered deep in the jungle of Papua New Guinea.

The rat, which has no fear of humans, measures 82cm long, placing it among the largest species of rat known anywhere in the world.

I don't care what they do so long as they do not,

1) Abuse the species or drive it to extinction.
2) Do a Jurassic Park on us.

I'm sure nobody would want to deal with a hord of rats that are as big as their pet cat and pet dog.

I'm sure nobody would want to deal with a hord of rats that are as big as their pet cat and pet dog.

Hopefully, they let it alone. I care about the animal's rights to live, like any others.

Just as, I can dislike Komodo Dragon 'cause they can kill like anything but it doesn't mean this specie deserve to extinct because it kills, eats rotten stuff and has bacteria all over its mouth. It has its rights to live too, and only nature has the rights to decide whether it should live or die.

I don't hate rats nearly as much as I hate/fear possums. Some rats are actually quite cute... but I would much rather find a mountain lion in my back yard than a possum.

I googled a possum and it didn't look very friendly. But it's still kind of better than the Aye-Aye.

I googled a possum and it didn't look very friendly. But it's still kind of better than the Aye-Aye.

At least Aye-Ayes are rare and not likely to be found prancing around in the yards of suburban areas.

Here in the States, we have the opossums, which are a variant of the possums, and imo, more creepy and ferocious looking with their pale, pointy muzzles and beady little eyes. *shudder* I've only had a couple of encounters with them (scared me half way to death both times), and unlike most other rodents, they don't scurry away when they see you.
