What if the man, or woman, cannot find a real companion in real life?
then he or she shouldnt be marrying. though they should seek help from people around them, to introduce more people to them etc.

I won't support this kind of utter foolishness.

People like this guy needs to know his purpose of living, as a physical human. Did he not get involved enough with real life?
What can I say? I'm still standing! No weapon against me shall prosper! I am more than a conqueror!!!

Some people simply do not see the incentive of real life when technology could offer them much more in their own terms of needs, wants and desires.

So the future is VR and the Matrix? It reminds me of the movie Strange Days. Some people can't get certain experiences in life so they buy a VR simulation to get the experience they want.

I hope it's more like THE JETSONS...one push of a button and your favorite meal is served in an instant.

    Now *that's* high-tech!

Hence, I suggest that he should embrace the gift of real life if he have not.

I don't know. Technology may have alot to offer but, I guess there's a line to draw across between the two.

Then you first have to convince the person how real life is superior to virtual/technology life. It will be tough work, because the mind is already bent on one side, especially when technology is... that good.

If I have a friend like that in real life, that person of such psychic, I'll suggest him/her to see a family counsellor if the family had gave up/couldn't care less/tried their best talking to him/her. I may not have that kind of capability to convince him/her. If it's a case beyond a counsellor's help....it's time to visit a psychologist/psychiatrist.

I would also suggest that, to convince them, it's beyond me yet it's they - themselves - that need to learn to appreciate what real life can provide.

Whatever happened to his discipline that he allowed himself to bend to the wrong side? Funny. Sad case.

No amount of counselling can fix that to be honest. The best rememdy is to go out and have fun. Living life is always the best cure for any emotional problems. There are so many interesting things in the world that its a waste to be emotionally screwed over some dumb issue.

And this should have a similar effect to what I've mentioned in my second part - appreciate what life can provide - that includes go out and have fun, and there's so much more.

To sit still in the theater for almost 3 hours for a movie is, in fact, quite a torture for me. I get restless after an hour and a half so I can't comprehend how people could play games continuously without sleep or going out.

Given an option, to pick one out of two: Take a bungee jump or game continuously 1/2 day(s) - I'll take the bungee jump anytime.

Most people don't have a bungee in their house, nor do bungee jumps (at least the "professionally" supervised ones) come cheap. If you've rigged up some sort of make-shift bungee system yourself more power to you -although I'd be interested to see how you would operate one yourself without another person hoisting you up. I suppose you could detach yourself and climb down with an auxiliary rope....

Now, if there was some way in the real world for me to jump over houses, and shoot fire from my hands all day in a safe and economical way then I'm all for it.

Last time I checked an one minute flight jetpack was 10K+ and flame throwers were not available to the general public -not to mention all the potential dangers that combination poses to personal health and property damage.

It didn't link my mind to think of someone having a bungee at home (no, there ain't enough space to experience that thrill). However, I'm suggesting that thrill and fun factor, apparently.

Well, since you came up with this brilliant plan, you may try. Feel free to share whether it's a success or failure.

Oh, so it's kind of like "I'd rather go scuba diving in the Dominican Republic than spend 1/2 a day gaming." i.e. I can think of something enjoyable and no way bounded by trivialities like being practical or feasible in a day to day environment as a substitute for gaming.

I get dizzy easily when inverted so no bungee jumping for me in any form. It was out of academic interest -thought you had some sort of viable alternative.

technically, getting a ticket for bungee jumping is much cheaper than buying an xbox + 1 game.

and it's possible to bungee jump while playing your psp. would that be ultimate torture for rem_ced?

It will be exceedingly difficult to do so because countless people got backstabbed by a partner in real life whereas technology always loyal to them. Many many people prefer to live alone mainly because they do not trust others. They have seen how cruel real life can be.

Actually, that comparism I've made was meant under extreme measurement. Recreationally, anything outdoor I'm all for it, of course.

I get dizzy, feel unwell and back hurt from curling up in a corner or couching indoor playing games for very long hours. Even when focusing on the game screen while travelling on a transport is an unhealthy move. I did that when I was in my teens. I used to have a coloured gameboy but I gave it to my little cousin. Game is definitely an entertainment I can live without, unlike music.

Hey, we have reverse bungee over here and you get seats, which means you get part of the thrill and fun without having the need to travel. The fee is probably slightly cheaper than a game from X-box, Playstation or PSP. You may top up alittle more to get that moment video-recorded.

That's an unhealthy move. When we do bungee, it's best to embrace the thrill with open arms.

Most games last more than 8 hours not even counting replays so the cost really needs to be amortized over a long period. Bungie jumping probably involves minutes of entertainment at best although I suppose the anticipation while waiting in line might add to that...
