If your religion appeals to other people, they will come to you. Stop hunting them down!
When you have a resistence against something, you run away. No?
Correct, but that still isn't the point. When people are resistant, it just means they aren't ready for it yet; not ready to be part of it yet.

Persistence on "saving" them has a high possibility of turning off them instead, as you are forcing it onto them during a time when they are not ready. When they are ready, they will open up and that will be the time to move in. Otherwise, people should just be left alone.

Part 1: I have deeply considered and experienced that even before it is suggested in here. So, when is one ready? The readyness for all you know, is pretty much an excuse. I know so - I was there. Say, you tell yourself "I want to start jogging tomorrow before I grow fatter" then when the day comes, you feel lazy and decided to postpone with a convenient excuse. And, you postpone another tomorrow with another convenient excuse because you're simply a) "tired", b) "not motivated", c) "not passionate enough", or finally, d) "you're comfortable with the load you have hence no need to jog at all". These all can equally sum up to the "not ready" or "not time yet" excuse.

Part2: The teacher probably foresee what I've mentioned and due to the young lady's possibly limited living time hence she was aggressively passionate about helping her. Yes, maybe the teacher should wait for a longer time to talk to her but....does the girl have the time?. Why "promoting Christianity"? - Because she's a Christian and she understands the teaching, the way. Just as she is a Math teacher, she teaches Math instead of English.

You seriously don't understand why evangelical Christians tend to be the ones that piss people off the most?

Come to think of it, the very worst Christian group on campus while I was at uni was the born-again evangelical Asian Christian youths. There's something about Asian Christians that make them hell bent on converting others. I used to make up all kinds of crazy religions that I was supposedly a part of to get them to fvck off and stop bothering me. I have no problem with other Christians because they don't preach to me and I even go to their churches.

It's like everyone has their duty/job to do, mission to accomplish. If their mission is to reach out, then it's their job to displease the non-believers, while the remaining bunch of the Christians sit back with popcorns shaking our heads saying "Merry pissing everyone off Christmas", my fellow believers.

I know a handful of my charismatic Christians doing that reaching out too. Especially during every Christmas celebration, we're encouraged to bring one or two non-believer friend along (which I did not). When I was a much less faithful Christian, my cousin nicknamed me "The Cellgroup Terriorist" because when my cellgroup leader tells me about this Obedience 101, I have also my book of Disobedience 101. You ask the view of a non-Christian, I'll relate you to the notorious me from before.

Blame the youths. It's just because they have newly received Christ (as their saviour) hence they have so much to say/share.....pretty much like someone just stepped on mouse-trap barefooted, you know (People go jumping up and down excitedly). Not to mention, as a youth, a new breathe of air brings your dead braincells back to life.

And, hey, just in case you find the pastor blurting nonsenses at the service, don't give up! I had similar yet more traumatising experience when I was a guest (of-honour) at church.

Why are we so harsh with spam and chain mails and pyramid schemes except when religion does it.

Do you mean, people pardon spams or chain emails when it is about religion? If not, can you elaborate on what you're trying to say.

That is pretty much what I mean. Sure, they may have the best intentions, but if I want something I'll go look for it, I don't need it brought to me.

I can't speak for others. Personally, religion ones or not, I pardon none. I ever replied to someone's chain blessings with this, "God bless! And this chain email stops here - QUIT spamming! It's the 11th commandment: SPAMMING and/or Chain email is PROHIBITED!".

I do think that it's pretty insensitive of the teacher to tell the girl that when young people die they go to heaven. I think the last thing the girl want to hear in her present state is death.

But, I don't think the teacher should be sacked. Maybe just give her a warning for first offense. After all, she did it out of compassion.

As for evangelists in general. I think their intention is good when they try to reach out to others. Christians believe that the ONLY way to reach God is through Jesus (correct me if I'm wrong, but, that what I read about and heard many Christians said so). So, to save other people, of course they have to get them into Christianity. It's the ONLY way.

it depends on what you mean by "reach God" and "through Jesus." if you mean, to go to Heaven, one must believe in Jesus Christ, then I think most strict Catholics and Evangelists probably do. But you have to remember that "Christians" encompasses literally thousands of different factions of beliefs. And that for most Protestants, it's a personal choice, and just being a good person will get you a spot up there.

I think the teacher deserved it.
It wasn't the first offence. According to one of the articles you provided on your first post, the parents of the girl
had repeatedly asked Mrs Jones to stop discussing Christianity with their daughter - and were left with no option but to report her to the council
    .

The teacher basically prey on the weak and vulnerable. She deserved to be sacked.

If only Christ mentioned that "I am a way, everyone can opt to reach the father through me" life would be so much easier for Christians, wouldn't it?

Anyway, as Christians, we don't go forcing ourselves on others. It is supposed to be through our love, our actions, our lives, that the light of Christ is supposed to shine, not our words. If people don't want to hear about it, we have to respect that. We are to pray, to come back if needed later, and to share if people want to listen, but never to harass people if they're not interested. It'll just stir negative reactions - look at what George W Bush did to America.

Yes, but the parents did ask her to stop it many many times and she didn't respect their wish. She was a math teacher, her job was to teach math to the student, not preaching her religion. She was basically preying on the weak and vulnerable whenever she has a chance. She deserved it.

I've no problem with Christians proselytizing to adults. However, sick or not, I'll be plenty offended if someone tried to convert my child without coming to me for permission first (which they won't get ).

Why do they need to drag me into their camp? I don’t go to churches and preach that there is no god so why can’t they have the courtesy to not come bother me at home or on the street?

What’s the difference between them and multilevel marketing people? Those pyramid scheme people are also saying how great it is to do what they do.

    "Preying"
She was basically taking advantage of weak and vulnerable.

There are a lot of christians out there who preaching about their religion all day long about how wonderful god is. But if they found out that a priest or member of their religion rape/molest innocent kid, they would do everything they can to shut the victim up by preaching about forgiveness or threatening them in order to protect their fellow christian and the image of christianity. For them, everything is forgiven if they ask Jesus for forgiveness regardless of what they do. The law of the land is irrelevant. I think people know about how the catholic church protects their child rapist priests and how it treats the raped victims.
