Kangaroo meat - China's fault again

I guess everything is China's fault nowadays. If I cut myself on the finger during cooking I'd best blame China for it, 'cos the blade is most probably from China too. BAAH.

Don't eat kangaroos, Steve Irwin's dad urges China

SYDNEY – The father of late Australian conservationist Steve Irwin urged China on Wednesday not to start importing kangaroo meat, warning it could wipe out huge stocks of the animal.


Bob Irwin made his plea after Australia's kangaroo industry began courting the giant Asian market in the wake of Russia's move to bar imports.

China is a sovereign country, she can do whatever she wanted. It's none of anyone business. I personally haven't consume any Kangaroo meat as they are not available in Canada. I would like to try them when I have a chance though.

It's like gamey steak. Very little fat. Best cooked rare. Kinda yum, but I prefer to have more fat on my meat.

i know they have ostrich eggs at wholefoods (organic supermarket). i've never tried though. they always have them on those tvb anniversary shows. maybe i'll buy one to try next time i see one.

WHAT?? They are eating kangeroo meat now too?? But then again, I am not that surprised since I once heard that they even ate humans!! However, I feel sorry for the kangeroos....

They serve kangaroo in restaurants in Australia, and there's a fair number of them running around in the suburbs (or maybe they're large wallabies -they look about the same to me). They're kind of like deer here in the U.S. although they don't seem to be as scared of humans.

Didn't Australia have a plague of cats (as in a population explosion) a couple of years back that threatened to overwhelm all the small native animals? Did the "open season on cats after dark" policy prove effective? If not they can switch to exporting cats... two birds with one stone and all.

I eat Koalas, if I ate my Kangaroo, I'd have nothing to ride to school. And the Government only issues 1 per person.
