HK movies are often like that. One moment it's slapstick comedy, next minute somebody dies and everyone's grieving. Then 2 minutes later it's back to toilet humor and no one's sad. Western viewers are often said to be unable to adjust to such fast-paced, hardly-transitional "emotion swing" of HK movies.
