    I think it's a veggie! Probably 'cos it's always handled like a veggie in food dishes.

    There should be a new category of food called "veggie-fruits" for such foodstuff, seeing how there's some sort of identity crisis with foods like the tomato.

    I think the "veggie-fruit" thing, which I meant as a joke, may not happen.

    Perhaps tomatoes are more commonly used but for people who explore the art of cookery, it is known that the "strictly fruits" can be also added as colouring or even flavour, excluding salads. For instance, this: http://southernfood.about.com/od/por...r/bl90202d.htm

    Orange juice can make a pleasant sauce and definitely appetitizing.

    i considered it as veggie, but in some places it is categorised as 'fruits' due to import/export trade regulations - different classifications had different tax rules.

    actually, i think it's categorized as a fruit bc of the way it grows. if you've ever seen a tomato plant, you kinda pick it off a "tree" like a plum.
