Some friends are too busy with their lives (either married with kids or moved to another country/city) so less time to meet with them. Old hangouts are filled with younger people. Even this forum seems dead.

Tape (SPCNET member) was right: it's a basic law of the universe that after people get married, they become boring.

*sigh*. Yes, that's how it is life after 30s. It's hard to get them to come out because they usually have a super busy schedule.

    Before 20, you are idealistic
    20-30, you are optimistic
    31-40, you are realistic
    41-50, you are pessimistic
    51-60, ... [no experience yet].

I agree, friends become more busy. A lot of them are starting to get married if not already married with children. I find myself buying more baby stuff for friends now =) I meet up with friends once a year since everyone is busy but I also get to travel more

I find my happiest period to date is 25-30. Because you start earning on a full-time basis during this period with little family commitments.

Once your children are older again, you can start traveling again. Sometimes you can take your kids along. When they are new borns, yes its hard and you lose a lot of sleep.... Somehow this thread sounds so depressing =(

Nah, they have different life after marriage. More bills to pay, more things to buy and thinking about big item like housing.

There is nothing depressing about this. Don't feel sorry for the parents who lose sleep over their children. When the children grow up, they will get all the big rewards in return. The children will be filial to them and take great care of them during their old age.

Being 36, single, and working...sometimes I do wonder, how would it be like being married and have kids.

One thing for sure: lesser social life.

I bet. Even over thirty and single, my social life have lessened. Most of my friends are married and my group of friends gets smaller. Only a few of them I hang out with or talk to.

You are self employed too? It's not a problem that you are a girl. We could be a perfect pair!!

A simple test about one's social life. Ask yourself whether any friend will come to your funeral. Currently, I doubt any 'friend" will come for my funeral.

Awww...sad wkeej. if I live closer, I would attend your funeral if I was a friend. I guess I am heading that route too...I wonder who would really attend my funeral now...hmm...

What a coincidence!! I am part-time self employed too! I don't make big but more than enough for me to live a simple life. I have no debt to worry about. I love the relaxing life. I am doing in-home math tutoring. Are you a math tutor?
