I seriously do not want to see another NEW TV adaptation of Jin Yong's novels for another 15-20 years. I already have favorites, don't need to make more to ruin it for me.

ROCH '83 Episodes # 38-40 are the most difficult to watch in the entire series. Despite some great action scenes, Yeung Gor and Little Dragon Girl are at their insufferable worst in these episodes.

Anyone know about an older adaptation of Gu Long's Da Ren Wu? I've started the 2007 version and probably won't continue after an episode or two, but I somewhat remember watching an older adaptation of the novel. Anyone know about it?

2000, with Wu Jing as Yang Fan and Ji Qin as Tian Sisi.

Ng Wai Kwok starred in many things but not an adaptation of Da Ren Wu. Must have been something else.

There was a Shaw Brothers film of Da Ren Wu, called Ambitious Kung Fu Girl (1982), starring Michelle Yim. Maybe it's that.

I am now working with a protein called Jumonji.

Does that name remind you of a certain wuxia character?

can i really say anything here?
don't know if it is only me or there is someone else who think the same as me,
i really dislike Little Dragon Girl in ROCH in general
i think if there is no such character in ROCH, the story will be much nicer.

Oh, yeah...you'd find plenty of agreement here.

    yes. yes yes you will
If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,

I sometimes wonder about Huang Rong and Yang Kang ending up together. I think it's in part due to Barbara Yung and Miu Kiu Wai pairing up as lovers in their other dramas (eg: The Foundation, Chor Lau Heung), it could be a bit disconcerting if one's reference point was their LOCH characters.

That will be an interesting turn of event and also supposed to be the original plan of Jin Yong.

I'm short on the details, but that was the original plan for the ending of ROCH: Little Dragon Girl was to have been revealed to have actually died when she jumped into Passionless Valley.

I think it would have been a much more fitting ending myself, but Jin Yong didn't dare go through with it; he thought that the audience wouldn't be willing to buy a downer ending.

I think a downer ending works better if it fits the tone of the story, which it would have in ROCH. Its happy ending always felt like a cop-out to me.
