How many playlists do you have? You seem so organized with your playlists.

I've just got bored with the arrangement of playlists, so I've cleared out my iTunes library to get a clean start with organizing my songs into playlists. It's just so hard to be creative and sort the playlists according to my liking. So I'm hoping people would share how they name their playlists and get inspiration.

The ones that I listed form the bulk of it. There are a few "oddball" ones in there that I don't use as often. The ones listed above form my regular "rotation," and it usually takes about three to four months to get through the entire rotation.

I like the setup I have. It works for me. It would also make a decent overview/history of popular music since the beginning of the rock era (1950s).

Mine is done chronologically and by genre. It's almost like a musical history book that illustrates the evolution of rock music from its oldest roots in blues and country music and the various subgenres rock itself has produced up to the present day.

Haha, why figures? I want an iPod, just waiting for my current one to become completely busted before I get a new one. Otherwise I feel like I'm abandoning it.

I have my songs in alphabetical order on my MP3. I don't really organize them into playlists, just because what I want to listen to depends on my mood and it's hard to put it to a playlist. Plus I tend to go through phases where I listen to one artist significantly more than others, so I just go to the "artist" directory and pick that one.

On my iTunes I have a Dir en grey and Mike Patton playlist. that's enough for me.

lol, i never do playlist, i just play by folder using a sansa fuze... I absolutely hate playlist, the shit you see display (id tag) isn't what the file name is... why the hell would you do that is beyond me. I swear they made it more difficult to do things, what's wrong a simple file name and folder organization.

I also don't have an Ipod..well I did but it was stolen haha. The playlists? I can't remember. I use a cute mini sansa player now, it's pink. If you want pics I have some!! Playlists? Uhm Don't have any of those on it either because I don't really know how to use it. I'm usually asking Ceddy how to use applications of spcnet and FB all the time LOL.

Ken's playlists are hardcore. Hey do you have knowledge of the Dewey Decimal Classification? Just curious.

As matter of fact, I do. No matter how big a library is, I can usually locate a book in it within five minutes.

They have a playlist as well, but it's a small part of the total iPod memory compared to the rock stuff.

    Right now I have:

    Alternative/Indie
    Joy Division/New Order
    Oldies

Whenever I'll have more time to fill in all the ID tags, I'll have more playlists like:

    Scores
    TV Themes
    TVB Themes
    Pop
    Synthpop
    Rock

    ...and many more.
My obsessions: Joy Division, New Order, Bones, The Office.

Do bears bear? Do bees bee?
