Approximately one-hundred years separated DGSD from LOCH. Bear in mind that the backstory of LOCH, with the 9 Yum Jen Ging and the rise of the Greats, actually predates the beginning of LOCH by a few decades.

During that century, these things happen:

1. Deun Yu sires a son, who in turns sires Deun Chi Hing, who is already a middle-aged man by the time of LOCH.

2. Wong Seung creates the 9 Yum Jen Ging (a process that takes forty years, not including the series of events that led to its creation).

3. The Fireworker Monk Incident at Shaolin, which basically took Shaolin out of the picture in wulin for several decades.

4. The fall of the Khitan Liao Empire, which still seemed fairly robust at the end of DGSD.

5. The rise of the Jurchen Jin Empire and the Jinghong incident that would give Gwok Jing and Yeung Hong their names.

6. The life and times of General Ngok Fei and General Yeung Tsoi Hing (ancestor of Yeung Teet Sum, Yeung Hong, and Yeung Gor).

7. The life and career of Dook Goo Kau Bai, who somehow manages to also get forgotten by wulin during this time.

8. The rise of the Greats and the First Mt. Hua Sword Tournament

9. Central Divinity Wong Chung Yeung's relationship with Lam Chiu Ying and the foundation of the Cheun Jen and Ancient Tomb sects.

Does all of that fit comfortably within the one-hundred year period between DGSD and LOCH? Busy century, despite no story being set during those one-hundred years.
