JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) Alexandra Tobias, a Florida mother accused of shaking her 3-month-old son to death after he interrupted her FarmVille game on Facebook, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
The 22-year-old was charged in the January death of her baby, Dylan Lee Edmondson.
She entered her plea on Wednesday.
Tobias told investigators she became angry after the baby cried while she was playing the computer farm simulation game, and she shook him.
She also said she smoked a cigarette to compose herself and then shook the baby again, at which time he may have hit his head, the station reported.

State guidelines call for 25 to 50 years in prison, but a prosecutor said Tobias' sentence could be shorter than that.

whoa people do crazy things when they're addicted to gaming. My brother told me about a couple he went to high school with that totally neglected their baby because they were playing warcraft or something. The grandparents of the baby eventually took him/her away. This poor child...not so lucky.

The point is, most pro-choice people agreed that this is murder too; as in there's no 50-50 argument about whether the mom is guilty.

I guess the difference is that one is unborn, and the other is already born. So it's like, since you decided to give birth to the child, you jolly well be responsible for his/her wellbeing, as compared with someone who never wanted to have the baby and thus got rid of it.

A pregnancy can be unplanned and unexpected, but not the birth of a child thus the weight of one who has chosen to give birth is heavier.

There's nothing amazing about it. People assign different values to different thing. There are people who condemn the eating of dogs and rabbits, but, they happily eat chickens, cows, pigs, goats. They just put different values on these various animals. You give the same value to a baby and a just fertilised egg, but, but not everyone does. Some people don't consider a fertilised egg or a fetus as a fully formed human being, while everyone agrees that a baby is a fully formed human being.

The term 'only a few months' give the impression of a short period of time and a very small age difference. Then, you use 'baby' to mean 'fetus'.

Well they are usually call fetes when the mother had no intention of keeping it. Most would be mothers I knew often called their child still in their womb babies lol
