    Default Hotel prices

Do you pay regular price for hotels?

For me, I cannot justify spending $150 for one night at a hotel (when all I do is sleep 5 hours there, not using most of their amenities), when I only pay $350 for one month of rent back at home.

Thanks to Priceline bidding, I usually get hotels at 50-80% discount.

^^ Thanks for the heads up on the Priceline bidding. I must confess I have not traveled extensively through the States so I don't know average hotel costs. When traveling in Asia, I usually stuck to hostels or guesthouses and have never paid more than $40USD a night when by myself. In Southeast Asia, I never paid more than $25USD a night.

I'd pay for a good night's sleep though...because that's important to me. However, I will always try to get a good night's sleep at a discount if I can haha. I always take advantage of a jacuzzi if it's there
    I like me.

Hotel price declining over the years? About ten years ago, I stayed at one 5-star local hotel in Kathmandu. It costed about US$280/night, with no breakfast. A fruit basket (about six different kinds of fruits) was given every day. Luckily, I stayed for only two nights and I love eating fruits.

Priceline bidding is good. It doesn't seem like there are any discounts when you book directly from the hotel website.

Try booking via Trivago, it is less compared to what the hotel actually offers.
