    Default Why Mt. Hua?

Mt. Hua is one of the great mountains in China, but China has no shortage of great mountains - Mt. Tai, Mt. Song (location of Shaolin), and Mt. Ngor Mei, to name just a few.

Why did the Greats select Mt. Hua to be the site of their epic Sword Tournaments? Was there anything particular about its geography or location that made it the ideal site for what they had in mind?

Interestingly, according to the intarweb, since the 13th Century, the Daoist temples on Hua Shan all follow Quanzhen Daoism.

Yeah...apparently because Gok Dai Tung, one of Wong Chung Yeung's seven disciples, founded the Mt. Hua School of Taoism.

Interestingly enough, Mt. Chung Nam, the birthplace of Cheun Jen Taoism, isn't considered one of the Five Sacred Mountains of China.

My guess is Hua Shan being used because it has 5 Peaks to go with 5 Greats.
