Default People don't die just because they turn thirty...

...but our youth-obsessed world often forgets or overlooks that fact.

I barely remember my 20's. It seems like it all happened yesterday but to someone else.

    I know! People thinks you/they are old once the age number hits more than 21. You are old and cranky once you hit 30, and worthless at 40. At 50? You don't even exist anymore. x.x;

I thought the trend these days was to say "30 is the new 20"?

Sounds like someone just turned 40.

I also thought 30 was the new 20. I'll be 30 in a couple of years, and I would definitely share my age to anyone willing to listen haha. Perhaps this is because I don't even look quite 25 yet.
    I like me.

I thought 30 is the new 20 for women who are deluded about how rapidly they're aging.

I'd call it a blessing to look younger than your actual age. As one can be mature in thinking and in their perspectives yet the looks doesn't reveal.

    On topic:

Even when we are competing with someone younger in work performance or such, don't ever believe that you have no triumph card to play in your hands or you have a hand of lousy cards only - because you still have your wisdom that usually comes with age! There is no need to get emotionally panic.
What can I say? I'm still standing! No weapon against me shall prosper! I am more than a conqueror!!!

I don't care to sit by the window on an airplane. If I can't control it, why look?

30 is nothing, it's only a little more than 1/3 of your life. In these days and ages, if you live a healthy life, you are expect to live beyond 80s.

on the flip side, when you do have experience, but cos you looked younger, everyone thought you're just a kid who didn't know and don't listen to you...that's just as bad...so if you look like scores of years younger than your actual age, it's not a blessing, but an embarrassment. =p

when i was 10 years old i told myself i would be married to my prince, have 2 kids, and own a beautiful house by my 30th birthday.
when i turned 20 i told myself that i would be dating my prince, own a bmw m6, and live in a nice condo by my 30th birthday.
now that i'm like 57... i thought 30 was awesome!

    30 is just a number.

Who care about what other people think as long as you feel great about yourself. For me, the younger looking than the actual age is the better.

when you are 20, you dream big - big car, big house, big pay cheque
when you are 30, you dream confidence - confident job, confident thinking, confident life
when you are 40, you dream white - white hair, white flag, white face
(hopefully, will have chance to revisit this thread when I hit 50. :0)

It's too bad that diseases such as cancer doesn't care if you live a healthy life or not

Heh, at 30 my parents had all of those things and more. At 30 I have none of those things. What's worst, I still don't know what I want out of life. And yes, I feel old.

Of course it cares. If you live a healthy life, then the chance of getting cancer is very low. If you live a junkie life then don't expect to see your 80th birthday.
