Default Jin Yong's world post-FLYING FOX OF SNOWY MOUNTAIN

Occurring during the reign of Emperor Chien Lung of the Qing Dynasty (and also after the events of BOOK & SWORD: GRATITUDE & REVENGE), FLYING FOX OF SNOWY MOUNTAIN was the last Jin Yong story to occur in the timeline of the author's fictional world.

Jin Yong wrote no more new wuxia stories set after FFoSM, but do you think the great wuxia adventures of his world came to an end after FFoSM (e.g. no more truly notable and epic events occurred afterwards, and wulin began giving way to the emergence of modern society), or do you believe exciting events continued to occur in Jin Yong's wulin world after that, even though he never wrote about them?

I sort of wonder at what point in time did wulin as it is depicted in wuxia stories disappeared from the world altogether.

It would almost be 1800 at the end of FFoSM. There is certainly no wulin after 1900 so it would be between these 100 years that the wulin dwindled and died.

I can almost picture a bittersweet final scene set in the early 1800s in Jin Yong's world wherein some of the last wulin warriors, realizing that their way of life is coming to an end, put down their swords and sabers forever to embrace a new way of life.

Maybe the likes of Yang Tiexin could finally be considered to have reached the peak of perfection in martial arts by that time.
