i have one act of cerano de bergerac by rostand left. this play is actually very good. i highly recommend. there's war, love, and a grotesquely large nose! what more could you want from a play?

Currently jumping around between 3 books:

"The Year's Best Science Fiction" anthology for 2002 edited by Gardner Dozois

"The Best American Short Stories" anthology of 2003 edited by Walter Mosley and Katrina Kenison

"Lies and Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right" by Al Franken

Wait, I just finished "Lies and Lying Liars" the other day.

i just finished damaged goods by upton sinclair, (author of the jungle) and maggie:a girl of the streets by stephan crane (author of the red badge of courage).

damaged goods was, i guess, about syphilis, and it was one big lecture. it was very informative, and exciting in the beginning, but dragged towards the end. i guess that's the kind of dude upton sinclair is. blah blah blah change the world, stop screwing around, blah blah blah, help the poor, blah blah blah. not very appropriate for a materialist like me.

the stephan crane book left much to be desired. it was just an account of one girl's life, and excerpts from the lives of those around her. very straightforward, no resolution.

i just started anne boleyn by e. barrington. they keep describing her as some kind of great beauty, totally glossing over the fact that she has a huge goiter and a 6th finger on her left hand. i guess these deformaties are supposed to give her character or something. and henry VIII handsome? uh...yeah...ok. and this book is influencing me in strange ways. i have the urge to go around and call people insolent wenches.
