Sentimental Swordsman, Ruthless Sword [Little Li’s Flying Dagger]

    Book of Weapons Ranking

    1. ???? (Used by "Mysterious Old Man" Old Man Sun)
    2. Dragon & Phoenix Rings (Used by ShangGuan JinHong)
    3. Little Li’s Flying Dagger (Used by "Little Li Tan Hua" Li XunHuan)
    4. Solar Apex Iron Sword (Used by Guo SongYang) : Died in Jin WuMing's hands
    5. Marquis Silver Halbred (Used by Lu FengXian)
    6. ???? (This weapon is never mentioned in the novel, or later novels)
    7. Snake Whip (Used by "Divine Whip" XiMen Rou)
    8. Golden Steel Staff (Used by "One Sweep Across a Thousand Soldiers" ZhuGe Gang) : Died in Guo SongYang's hands
    9. Green Devil Hand (Used by "Green Devil Hand" Yi Ku) : Died in Ah Fei's hands
    10. Jade Reed of the Eastern Seas (Used by Priest of the Jade Reed)*
    .
    .
    .
    19. Twin Meteor Hammer (Used by "Wind and Rain Meteors" Xiang Song)

*This character does not appear in this novel, but rather in one of its sequels, "Eagle Flying in September". Since no one's going to translate that book any time soon, I figured I might as well mention it here.

    Notable Unranked Fighters

Jin WuMing - His ability are definitely comparable to any of the top five fighters on the Book of Weapons.
Ah Fei - Same as Jin WuMing. Of course, that's assuming we ignore the Lin XianEr factor. In which case he's not even worth a ranking.
Big Merriment Lady Buddha - Hard to say. Certainly has the potential to defeat Li XunHuan...
Blue Scorpion - It was mentioned that she is better than Yi Ku(#9 on the Book of Weapons). But not sure if she can go beyond that.
The Reverends of Shaolin - They didn't look too good against Ah Fei and Li XunHuan. But should be comparable to the lower portion of the top ten list.
Five-Poison Kid - Not sure how to rank him...
Hunchback Sun - Too bad he doesn't use any weapons. Or he'd be ranked somewhere. I'd say in the 10-20 range.

    Other Notable Characters

Lin ShiYin – Li XunHuan’s cousin. Wife of Long Xiao4 Yun
Long Xiao4 Yun – Li XunHuan’s sworn brother.
Long Xiao3 Yun – Son of Long Xiao4 Yun and Lin ShiYin. Abhor Li XunHuan for destroying his kung fu
Sun XiaoHong – Old Man Sun’s granddaughter
Lin XianEr – The most beautiful woman in the world, according to the book.
    LingLing – Lin XianEr’s maid
ShangGuan Fei – ShangGuan JinHong’s son
Tie ChuanJia – Li XunHuan’s servant

Well, I was too lazy to do one of these lists earlier, but figured it was worth the extra thread for two translations.

    Cool

Meh, thanks so much for the lists.

They are a good help with long novels. Sometimes, I forgot info and was lost where to dig the info up.

    appreciate your time....

yes, thanks for the much needed character lists, Meh, particularly as Gu Long loves to build up a character and ends up killing them off as soon as they appear - it can be hard just keeping up with the number of ppl introduced

Um... I wrote Lu FengXian, not Lu Bu. Although I should point out that both of their surnames are actually not 'Lu', but rather the 'u' has two dots above it. Makes it sound more like 'ue' or something. Ok, I'm rambling...

I think Lu Bu was also called Lu Feng Xian. Like how Zhao Yun is also called Zhao Zi Long. And since both use halberds, I thought it was more then a coincidence.

I didn't know that. Never did read ROTK, even though I've been meaning to for quite a while now.

Anyway, added #19 Xiang Song to the Book of Weapons ranking.

yep, in addition, Lu Bu is also known as Wen Hou. it's just a very obvious reference that's all. Lu Bu is the unmatched warrior of RoTK, a very cocky person. And GL conciously used the clear reference here to show that Lu Feng Xian also asserts the same type of superiority over people as well.

here's some very random thought in my head. I think this book should be renamed "Saving Private Ah Fei"
It means you got eyes like apostrophes, you dress white, talk black, and drive Jew. So how am I supposed to know what kind of zipperhead dog-munching dink you are if you don't?

Fan Yao: Right Emissary of Brightness

Yang Xiao: Left Emissary of Brightness

Just something Meh, He Zudao is not the founder of the Kunlun School. The Kunlun School in "Jinology" existed even in DGSD, Kunlun School was mentioned by Jiumo Zhi when he was at the Heavenly Dragon Monastery.
Also the leader of the Kunlun School (Taoist priest) Qingling Zi was invited by Yang Guo to attend Guo Xiang's 16th birthday.
He Zudao was probably an extraordianary exponent of the Kunlun School.

atehna thanks for corecting me cheng cun was something else. Also within the 4th ermei generation zhuo zhi ruo is the most notable not becos she was evil for a short period of time but rather her white claw 9 yin technique.

Yeah, this was my mistake. For some reason, I remembered a part in HSDS where JY mentioned that HZD founded Kun Lun. Of course, looking back, he never did. Some sort of disillusionment on my part, perhaps?
