Surely Gore should have realised that without the backing of immediate economic benefits, few would give a hoot about environmentalism? It's difficult to justify the money spent on environmentalism without having a bigger return from environmentalism.

That is not the point I was trying to make. Al Gore himself consumes a few dozen times more energy than average American and at the same time telling average guys to make sacrifice for common good. What a hypocrite. As for average people, I believe we should do our part to benefit the environment without sacrificing our lifestyle. We should recycle newspapers, flyer, cans, bottle, plastics, and whatever can be recycle instead of dumping them into the garbage can.
