Background:
Prince Ying was the fourth son of the King of Donghai. He was the King’s favourite son since birth, being born from his most favoured concubine. Being the king’s favourite son meant numerous incentives; Prince Ying received the best education, the most love and attention, and were bestowed with the best gifts as well.

Handsome and intelligent, Prince Ying was expected to achieve greatness. Even though he was then only fourteen, but it was becoming apparent the King was likely to break protocols and name Prince Ying as the heir.

However, the King suddenly passed away without naming an heir. The royal princes who had long felt threatened by Prince Ying joined forces to persecute his supporters. After the purge, they focused on their hapless brother, who sensed the danger and fled Donghai with a group of guards and attendants.

Prince Ying knew his brothers would never let him off as long as he was still alive, so he needed a strong protector. After much considerations and discussions with his loyal advisors, it was decided Prince Ying would go to Pan, whose King have had a good relationship with his father.

So Prince Ying sought refuge and support from Pan. Outraged at the behaviour of the Donghai princes and their treatment of Prince Ying, the King promised support and assistance to him. Unfortunately before anything could materialise, the King of Pan passed away. The newly crowned King had his own plans, and soon Prince Ying’s presence was all but forgotten, if not ignored, in Pan’s royal court.

Wow, seems like the sisters arn't too friendly with each other...and both are bit "evil" minded (wonder what the King of Xiwu is like to have such daughters)

I was thinking of Xue Qian's "love" being more of a one-sided thing. But we can always make things interesting with illicit affairs. Depends on what is decided, I will go back and edit his story.

Looks like Miss Yue Jiayan might be in for a lot of torture. Was planning to make a jealous Pan concubine find ways to torture the Yue sisters

I did consider that if Yue Fei'er were smarter, then Yue Jiayan wouldn't need to crack her head so much. But then if Yue Fei'er were smarter, she may not like being manupilated by Yue Jiayan in the first place. So I guess it's easier to have Yue Fei'er as a bimbo in the palace while Yue Feiyan goes out to annihilate the other states on horseback. When done she can just get rid of Yue Fei'er or something.
