**The story then flashes back to three years earlier, during the time of New Year**
The entire palace is full of joy and laughter, everyone ready to enjoy the spectacular dances and fireworks to bring about happiness. Qian Long and rest of his court are all seated, and the celebration begins. Dancers dressed in red starts moving towards the performance area with a pair of lanterns each. In the middle is Xiao Yan Zi, who introduces herself (to the audience) and quickly moves to the spectators. She presents a lantern to Qian Long and introduces him (to the audience as well). she does this for Zi Wei, Ching Er, Lao Fuo Ye, Huang Hua, Ling Fei, YQ, EK and Xiao Jian. Soon everyone starts hanging all the laterns up to bring good luck, etc.
A few days later, Qian Long, Ling Fei, XYZ and Yong Qi, and many servants, etc walk through the garden, and QL brings up the subject of books molding. Ling Fei is assigned the task of having all the books to be placed in the sun. XYZ volunteers to take care of business, and YQ tries stopping her. saying that it is a big task. He in turn is stopped by QL who says that XYZ must not be protected, and it is good for her to have responsibility. YQ volunteers to help as well and bring everyone too.
Later on, XYZ, YQ, Zi Wei, Er Kang, Ching Er, and Xiao Jian are all present to sunbathe the books. XYZ leaves the sorting out to the more knowledgeable people and decides to use kung fu to throw all the books down to them. Well, the others start flying up to catch all the books and soon everyone is having a good time. EK mentions to YQ that its still unbelievable how they completed the task within a day, when it usually takes several days before.
Everyone takes a break, and someone says that the difficult part is actually organizing all the books again, as XYZ just threw everything down at the same time. Just then thunder clap is heard. Everyone is dumbfounded, looking up at the sky....Soon storm clouds begin to appear and begins raining instantly. Everyone frantically tries to get all the books, but the rain is pouring very hard. In a mere instant, XYZ rushes to carry a stack of books in but slips and falls badly on her back, and knocks all the tables of books down as well. YQ and the others rush to her, and she tells them that she's afraid she won't be able to make it, having such a terrible stomach ache.
Back at YQ and XYZ's residence, Lao Fuo Ye is furious about XYZ's carelessness and fault for not being more proper...especially when she's pregnant.
Ling Fei, Zi Wei, and Ching Er comes out to deliver the news that XYZ had a miscarriage. Huang Hua is also there and tries to ease LFY by saying that they're still young and will still have more children later on.
LFY says it's strange why they need an outsider (Xiao Jian) to attend to palace duties. Xiao Jian is also furious, but Er Kang intervenes saying that he was given special approvals by the Emperor, and that he's very worry about XYZ as well. LFY doesn't care, and then leaves with Ching Er. Moments later, Huang Hua also leaves.
The scene then shifts to YQ and XYZ. He asks why she didn't let him or anyone else know about good news. She says that she didn't know anything about it, being as how she never had a mother to learn from...
.............................
**Three years later**
It is now the time of Qian Long's 30th year as emperor and they are all watching a special Mongol performance to commerorate the event. He asks why XYZ isn't present and YQ replies that she's not feeling well. LFY takes it that she has good news and asks YQ. Huang Hua says that Zi Wei should know since they are sisters, but ZW replies that it is better to ask YQ. He pretends to be oblivious to the question and Ling Fei asks again. He then laughs and tells them to enjoy the show instead.
Er Kang leads the Mongol performers into the 'arena' and the men starts flipping over the a row of eight camels or so.
Soon a much smaller figure (named Zi Yan Xiao) is to perform. The king and everyone laughs saying that it would be impossible for the such a tiny person to successful jump over all the camels.
ZYX attempts the jump but instead starts sliding towards the camel....
