    FIGHTER IN THE WIND

This is a good movie, the story is based on the life of Mas Oyama (Choi Baedal), a Korean Japanese Karateka who defeated all 270 fighters, most with nothing more than a single punch. The fight never passed more than three minutes.

Mas Oyama was the founder of Kyokushinkai Karate.

    Indonesian movie reccomendation ...

30 Hari Mencari Cinta (English : 30 Days Looking for Love)

Simply light-hearted story about three upper-middle-class College girls in Jakarta who made a bet among themselves, the ultimate goal is... who can get a boyfriend first in 30 days. Whoever win the bet had to clean up the huge nice house and other errants around the house they live in for the entire year. So they had to scrambled for makeover within days and started dating guys after guys after guys.

Very fun movie to watch, it also shows us tons of beautiful girls. One of the main stars in this movie is a famous model/actress ... Dinna Olivia, who also did a shoot for commercial in HongKong recently.

    Japanese Movie

    DOLLS

This odd Takeshi Kitano's (who normally make ultra violent Japanese movies) movie might not be right for you, in fact it's not everyone. There's hardly any dialogues... but the power of this movie comes out from the picture, the characters hardly have to say a word but it shows how what the relationship among them and what the Kitano is trying to convey.

The movie is beautiful - very poetic and introspective, the cinematography is brilliant, especially the use of colors, and technically it was quite creative by crossing three different stories into one single movie about the tales of love and regret, about what we have to do achieve the ultimate love ... and the costume designer is Yohji Yamamoto.

just watched this and it was really funny and meaningful...

    Too Beautiful to Lie

    AKA: Don't Believe Her Lies
    Year: 2004
    Director: Bae Hyung-Joon
    Cast: Kim Ha-Neul, Kang Dong-Won
The Skinny: Manufactured romantic comedy vehicle for star Kim Ha-Neul. While sometimes amusing, the film can't escape its canned emotions and obvious, manufactured screenplay. All things considered, this is passable, but frightfully average stuff.

Samurai Reincarnation- It may be old and the violence look a little fake but it's still pretty good. Sonny Chiba does really well as Yagyu Jubei.

This is a pretty light comedy, although it's quite cheesy and goofy at times.
    The soundtrack is great though.

I prefer Mr Tutor Friend actually.

    OLD BOY (2004) Korean Move

This was the movie that was edged out by Michael Moore's 'Farenheit 9/11,' to win the best picture at the Cannes Movie Festival 2004 in France. The director, however, managed to grab the best director award, which he solely deserved.

Oldboy is a rare treasure in the movie-making history. The fantastic idea of the story and the awesome final twist at the end will charm you and will probably make you a cult follower of this movie, which is growing everywhere around the globe, as we speak.

Here's a brief summary of the movie, without spoiling the it...

An man was kidnapped. He was then imprisoned in a hotel room for 15 years without any sort of explanation. When he was finally released, he was only given money, a cellphone and expensive clothes. He then struggled to find out about how everything happened, why everything was the way it had been, and he wanted to find out the explanation of his imprisonment and finally to get his revenge. Sounds simple, wait until to watch the movie, and then as you think you've figured out where the movie was heading, the final 15 minutes hit you.

    My picks are:

    1. Musa - The Warrior (Korea)

Truly an epic tale. Extermely realistic and very detailed. Actually the remake of "Seven Samurai".

    2. When the Last Sword is Drawn (Japan)

A very sad story covering the last days of the Samurai.

    3. Sword in the Moon (Korea)

A story friendship between two samurai warriors devided by a revolt.

    4. Bichunmoo (Korea)

Weird tale of love and romance.

    5. Heaven and Earth (Japan)

An epic tale of war between two great samurai's for the control of Japan. When I say epic, I mean Japanese style. If you're a fan of Ran and Kagemasua it's one to watch. If not stay clear of it.

I highly recommend a Bollywood movie, 'Lagaan'. It's a fascinating story of how Indian villagers overcame their colonists in a cricket game so that they wouldn't have to pay taxes for three years. Ok, so the summary sounds silly, but really it's a good movie. See how the Indians learned cricket and how they fought their way through the game.
