Default Do you think Yelu Qi is a secret spy agent sent by Mongol ?

I have a question to ask about Yelu Qi , do you think he actually a secret spy agent or mole like today CIA ,KGB,Mossad ,Al-Queda,James Bond etc sent by Odegei Khan and Mongke Khan to spy on Guo Jing ,Huang Rong and the Song dynasty ?

Why Guo Jing and Huang Rong accept him as son in law despite he a Qidan and even Huang Yat Shi accept him ,a enemy of Han,and his father serve for Mongolian ?
Why The Beggar clan accept him while they reject Kiew Fung in DGSD who is also a Qidan?
How he fall love to Guo Fu ,do you think he actually pretend to love her for special mission ?
And do you think he actually a cold heart, ruthless ,brutal , person and chosen by Ogedei/Mongke /Kublai for this spy mission ?
Could he play a important role on the fall of Sung dynasty by spying on the Sung army?

    Thanks.

1: Qidan and mongol are 2 different tribes, they are, in fact enemies at one time.
2: Han people don't really believed in Racism, the fact that ROC did not go around hunting down Manchurians proves this.
3: And hence being a Qidan does not make one automatically an enemy of Han unless he leads an army against Song and goes around killing Han people.

Not likely, or he would not have allowed the Gwoks to live for nearly thirty years before killing them, nor would he have helped them in eliminating some of the Mongols' best leaders and martial artists.

Besides, Yeh Lut Chai had no love for the Mongol regime; they *murdered* his father and brother, after all.

That's because there are still people alive with active memories of China's war with Japan (although that generation is disappearing). By the time that Yeh Lut Chai became the Gwoks' son-in-law, there was nobody alive who had any firsthand memories of Sung's war with the Khitan Liao Empire.

Most Chinese in Taiwan and HK are not.
A lot of those in SG aren't as well.
The mainland learns hate from CCP.

I believe it was noted some place in HSDS that the Beggar Clan was at its peak when HR and YeLu Qi were the leaders; later leaders sort of failed in comparison.
If YeLu Qi were a spy, he would do everything in his power to aid the Mongolians in their conquest, like moving the Beggar Clan south, making way for the Mongolian army etc. (Much like Yang Kang tried to do in LOCH).

All of them combined only account for a small fraction of the Chinese populace. You can't make a generalization about Chinese ppl using them only.

If Yelu Qi was really a spy, he didn't do such a great job at it.

What is there for them to hate? It's not like they've actually suffered at the hands of the Japanese, and it'd be sheer hypocrisy considering the vast amounts of Japanese merchandise and pop culture they consume.

The thing is, mainland Chinese have been affected by non-Chinese ideas more then the others.

Like jadebunny said, brainwash is part of it.

I know lots of Chinese who avoid anything Japanese.

*Real* hate requires a feeling of being personally wronged or hurt. The brainwash kind of hate is just lip-service hate, which isn't necessarily harmless, but it's nevertheless a weaker variety of hate.

You can't just call it lip-service hate. This is racism, and racism is a very real form of hate.

I used to hate Jp a few years back, that time I was very pro mainland China.
Being brain washed by a lot of WW2 films.
Changed a lot since then, naturally.

How do you know they're not being brainwashed to believe it's personal? It's not that hard to make them believe that Japan is responsible for the current troubles in their society and lives.

Well, it partly is... Just like much of the West. Those decades when China basically became a playground for foreign colonialists sure played its part in all the 20th-century mess. (I am not overlooking the huge contributions to the mayhem by Chinese themselves, of course.)

That is not to say, of course, that the victim complex is doing the Mainland Chinese any good. It's not and the sooner they get rid of it, the better for them.
