The situation is chaotic in Syria. The current government leads by Assad is far far from ideal. In fact, he is pretty ruthless and would do anything to stay in power. However, pretty much anyone who is in his shoes would do the same. If he is out of power, he knows he will find himself in international court and his life is over. Basically, he has no choice but to fight to his last drop of blood. However, is the rebel any better than him? The main question is: Who is the lessor of the two evils? Assad or the Rebel?
My answer is: As bad as Assad is, he is the lessor of the two evils. At the very least, he is the evil that the world knows. At least, if he is on power, we know that it's unlikely that he would give his chemical/biological weapons to the terrorists such as Al Qaeda. On the other hand, the rebels got the support from Al Qaeda, and we don't know what they are capable with. I guess the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know.
