Where Is Everbody?

Where has everyone gone? This forum used to be so active, now it's all quiet with very few new posts. What happened? Is it because people don't like Chinese entertainment anymore or is there competition with other forums?

I think it's a case of nothing lasts forever. People evolve and try new things, and lots of new things have emerged in the last 10 years. Meanwhile, this forum has stayed pretty static. People simply get interested in other things and have less time to spend here.

Which reminds me of one of life's wisdom: to stay competitive, one must keep innovating.

The mainland series is quite popular. The biggest decline is possibly wuxia fiction.
People come and go.

I have checked. We don't have a member by that name of 'everybody'

the closest we have is 'Everygurlxxx'

Anyway, I guess engaged with life itself rather than into another forum - I'm speaking for myself.

It's nice to still come back here and feel like coming back to a hometown though.

A good majority of people I knew in this forum since a long way back have left. The only thing consistent about them all is that they all grew up/older, have more responsibilities in life which gave them lesser time to hang around. Either that, or it's the inevitable shift of interests. This, and maybe combined with the earlier reason...

But somehow, we don't have many new members that become regulars... neither do we have many people who tries to initiate topics. For this, I really appreciate the work Ken is doing for the wuxia forum. He's one of the few who is consistently trying to stimulate conversations in the forum.

people getting older, got married, have kids, got gf/bf, getting buzy with works, engage more in real social life then spending time in forums etc... and then there is FB, twitter and 4SQ which I spent most of my time collecting badges haha

I started visiting and posting in asianfanatics...the ppl there are a mixed bag lol so are some of forum topics
