Tibet is not a country.

On a more serious note, North Korea do have border dispute with China.

Japan doesn't have it's own military, war doesn't seem to be an option for them.

Japan has a "defense force", which is a navy all but in name. They lack the projection power of US carrier groups but they can more than hold their own against Chinese Navy.

Jackie Chan thinks the islands are China's

source: asiancrunch.com

Hong Kong screen icon Jackie Chan has weighed in on the Sino-Japanese territorial dispute over a group of islands in the East China Sea known as the Diaoyu Islands in China and Senkaku Islands in Japan, reported Taiwan media.

“The Diaoyu Islands definitely belong to China!” said Chan on Monday, during an event in Taiwan’s Taitung County, where he had shot scenes for his new movie “Chinese Zodiac”.

“The Diaoyu Islands belong to China, but what I say doesn’t count, it is up to the government to deal with it; I wish I am Superman, so I can pull the island closer,” Chan added.

When asked whether he would consider shooting a film on one of the disputed islands, Chan said he would not, explaining that it was just “too sensitive” and would require a lot of effort for very little reward.

Chan also said he hoped Russia would resolve its territorial disputes with both China and Japan, pointing out that there is a need “to respect every country’s culture, and for everyone to live harmoniously together”.

The 58-year-old actor is not the first Asian celebrity to express his views on the Sino-Japanese spat, which had sparked protests across China in recent weeks, but he may well be the most famous.

Chan has appeared in over 250 films so far and is one of the very few Asian actors to have made a name for himself in Hollywood, on the back of movies like “Rush Hour”, “Shanghai Knights” as well as a 2010 remake of “The Karate Kid”.

This is becoming ridiculous...

With tensions rising between the Japanese and Chinese over the rife of the "Diaoyu islands", a recent microblog post by Lee Hom has come under fire by Chinese netizens.
The singer recently uploaded photo of his newly-received made in Japan camera, and wrote: "The new model has arrived. I can improve on my photography skills now!"

Lee Hom's post garnered immediate flake from Chinese netizens. They wrote in reply: "You've gone beyond the boundaries, no excuses even if you're a superstar!" and said the singer-actor "deserves a scolding".
In support of Lee Hom, his fans stood up and claimed that the post made was in no way related to the government's row over Diaoyu islands.

Both sides hold varied views and Lee Hom's microblog post has since chalked up more than 20,000 comments.
In response to this misunderstanding, Lee Hom's company stated that they are cannot answer any questions on his behalf as they are unable to contact him.

Other artistes who have come under fire for visiting Japan or using made in Japan products include Tony Leung, Wu Chun and Vivian Hsu.

That wouldn't happen if the Commie Party didn't ingrain into every young mind in (middle? high?) school that Japan is the Great Evil. But then, the Commies wouldn't have an external enemy they can train their populace's attention to in order to take flak away from themselves and hold on to power.

Oh, wait. They still have "100 Years Of Shame!" to cry over. Get over it.

Japan is a Great Evil. You either don't know what they did during World War II or think what they did is great.

Japan does serve as useful target and distraction, and at same time the anti Japan sentiment is also very real at a grass root level. It wouldn't matter if the government is Authoritarian or democratic. Anti-Japanese sentiment would be probably be even worse if China is democratic though, as it will be easy brownie points to get votes. Think all the stupid anti China crap that gets dished out (Chinese professor ad, Debbie spend it now) during elections in the states, and China never invaded US and attempted to colonize it.

South Korea is a good example, no commie party yet they are just anti Japan as China.

Yea, that doesn't work in the real world, put down the knife (or let it get rusty) and other powers will just walk all over you like what happened during 100 years of shame.

In real life, you can put down the knife, but make sure you have your machine gun ready. Gaddafi of Libya is a good example. If he didn't get rid of his chemical/biological weapons, he would still be in power instead of 6 ft under. Only losers would agree to put down the weapons.
