I'm thinking, that if we compare Jin Yong's martial art with the real world martial art today, 18 Subduing Dragon Palm is the simple modern Boxing, while the other martial arts are more like today traditional Chinese Kungfu. Like Tay Chi, etc.

We all know that Western Boxing style is simple. You can learn the move very quickly. As there are no trick and advanced movement in it. But nevertheless, even when you know boxing, there are people who can reach world class championship level, while the others stuck in Amateur level. The secret lies on the tactic and physical ability that the fighter has. We can see that even low level modern MMA fighter like Xu Xiaodong can kick so many Chinese Traditional martial art teacher; just because Xu has better physical ability and experience than his opponent.

So maybe 18 Subduing Dragon Palm is really like modern boxing / kick boxing. Where there are really only 18 simple moves; and the main drive of the move is really the physical ability and the inner art strength of the practitioner. So when other fighters like Huang Yaoshi need to find another new tricks to make a new feint move, Hong Qi Gong really just need do strengthen his muscles and make his punch faster and stronger.

With this, you don't really care if the opponent copy your move. Because even if the opponent can copy your technique, he can't copy your muscles and aggressiveness.

So if we back to Xiao Feng versus Zhang Wuji fight, I think Zhang Wuji can really copy / mimic 18 Subduing Dragon Palm. But he doesn't has the muscles that become the main drive of the techniques.

Yeah, the way how and when GJ, XF and HQG using the Dragon Palms will be different even the martial arts is the same.
It is just like Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton will drive the same F1 car in the race with the same regulation but the way they drive will be different.

Even ZWJ could mimic all the Dragon Palms or other martial arts, I agree that he should find the way of using it himself, using the internal energy and other martial arts he already had before.

Yeah but the problem is Wuji never "copy" kungfu from people which around his level or near his level all of his "victims" is way inferior than him that's why he can easily "copy" their moves..

Well you might be right but I think it would be harder for him to "copying" his opponents moves especially during fight against someone which as strong as him..
