Hello world.

I'm James. 21 years of age biomedical engineering student. I started reading Stellar transformation some 2-3 weeks back and caught up to the current translation and decided to help the group with their translations. I am currently working on Vol11-chapter25. 1/2 way done.

That said, I would like to start a blog page posting of my own translations of novels (hopefully I can make some money from ads from the site). Please recommend me some novels to translate. I will pick one from the list.

Some requirements:
1. Do not recommend novels that's currently being translated.
2. If you are recommending dropped translations, I will not translate it until I read the novel itself to check if I like it.

To tell you the truth, a lot of what i know comes from what's here and also manhua adaptions of books that i find on batoto.net
2 of them seemed interesting from what i've seen recently.

Battle Through the Heavens is my first choice. It sorta has a translator but I'm not yet sure how active GoodGuyPerson plans on being. If you are interested it is worth a conversation with him since it only has chapter 4 out at the moment.

On a completely untranslated note I'd recommend 傲世九重天 because the manhua ( http://bato.to/comic/_/comics/ao-shi...ng-tian-r14299 ) actually looked kinda cool. Considering how badly wuxia and xianxia novels are in manhua form I figure the novel must be even better, right?

How about Joy of Life? I believe it has been dropped.

Otherwise, check out Shen Yin Wang Zuo. The manwha has a few chapters translated and it looks to be pretty good.

Feels awesome that we have another capable translator to lead the masses in to reading wuxia/xianxia and to forget real life

I suggest that you translate Legend of the Longsword Master
The first book has been translated
The story is awesome but unfortunately the translator dieded (jk) halfway
That was a joke, he was busy with RL and other translations so he couldn't give the time this project deserved

傲世九重天, the webcomic sucked. Really sucked. I don't know if I want to try to novel because of that.

无极剑神 the webcomic seems to intrigue me. I might work on this one.

So while checking the webcomics, I came across this one novel: God Class Hero by Large Ashtray There's 949 chapters out. I might try reading this one later tonight and see if I am interested in translating it.

you sure it is a wuxia/xianxia novel?

I don't mind that you are translating it (am I crazy that i would dissuade a translator from working on a project??? dafuq is wrong with me) just wanted to know the genre of the novel

Yep, it seems like a vrmmorpg type. But hey, I'm still helping with the st translation. I personally prefer mmo type. I'll check the story out today and see how it is.

Never judge a wuxia by its web novel though. Best example is the Kuang Shen wuxia being translated by hurray_cats. The manhua is ATROCIOUS! But the book is pretty epic so far.

As far as 傲世九重天 goes I've only read what's been translated so I have no idea how bad it gets later in the web comic. (3 votes for this)

无极剑神 would also receive a vote from me. The story looks really good and the manhua makes me want to know what happens next. Not to mention the books are nearly always better than the manhua. (3 votes for this as well)


Personally while whatever you translate is good because its more for me to read, I'd rather see another wuxia translated than another mmo novel translated. Just my 2 cents.

James Shi, this is a purely selfish question. But are you still planning on helping out with ST after your new project start rolling or not?

Of course it's entirely up to you, but as a huge ST fan I was just curious.

Yep, I am still going to translate ST. I should be able to finish chapter 11-25 tonight or tomorrow. That said, I tried reading the first chapter of God class hero... it seems like a very hard translation. Too many terms. Also, main character seemed rather cocky. I don't know if I'm into it. I might try 2 more chapters to see. I'll read a chapter of 无极剑神 tonight to see if that's a better go.

Edit: Finished chapter 2. It got better.
