After that, they have to overcome another 9 divine tribulations. By that time, a gambit has to be made to open the Heaven Eyes. Shui Yisi was banished from the Eternal Ice Palace and her hatred for her younger protégé sister Shui Yixian was passed down to Xiao Youxue to shoulder.

Ye Yin is also the wielder of the Despairing Heavenly Divine Sword, the counterpart darksword to the Perpetual Darkness.

As a Supreme Celestial of the Ascension Sect, she was quickly groomed to the leadership position of the Ascension Sect. In less than a hundred years, she had also established herself as one of the seven most powerful celestial fighters in the Celestial Realm.

When she saw Yi Ping, she had determined that he was the righteous man that she has been looking for all this while and for that, she was willing to throw everything aside!

Chapter 1: War of the Immortals



Millenniums ago somewhere in the Seventh Heavens of the Immortal Realm on a lofty peak that was surrounded by three spectacular waterfalls from the floating islands above.

This was the renowned Three Isle Heavenly Lofty Peak.

At the lofty peak were a hundred immortal practitioners from a hundred immortal sects and clans. All of them were either the leaders or the most eminent elders of their respective sects and clans!

Out of these hundred immortals, forty were Zen Immortals, another forty were Arhat Immortals and the rest were the Autonomous Immortals.

The Autonomous Immortals had fewer representatives but they were no less influential!

This was actually the first time that these powerful immortals had congregated together!

They were all rebuking each other coldly and were full of sarcasm in their exchanges!

An Autonomous Immortal who called himself the Great Battle Emperor said coldly, “I have no interest in the feud between the Zen Practitioners and the Arhat Practitioners. But the reason why we have congregated here is to have an agreement with each other, am I right?”

The Goddess Celestial Alice yawned softly, “What else.”

Today she was the lead representative of the Zen Immortals!

Great Lord Ahoha the lead representative of the Arhat Immortals replied coldly, “The Zen Immortals have to surrender access to the Stellar Sanctuary. Surely the Zen Immortals are not thinking of denying the rest of us the access to the Eternal Realm?”

The Goddess of Mercy who was also an Arhat Immortal hummed coldly, “Isn’t it too obvious already?”

She rose to her feet as she stared coldly at the Goddess Celestial Alice, “We are all the children of the Great God Pangu…”

Great Lord Ahoha coughed softly to remind her that the Arhat Practitioners had their own names for their creator.

The Goddess of Mercy smiled gently before correcting herself, “I mean the Great God Fan Tian. Look at me. I am so forgetful. We are the most exalt of the exalts. We are the inheritors of the Immortal Realm regardless of our ideologies. At long last, the Stellar Sanctuary has descended to the Immortal Realm. Isn’t this the moment that we are all waiting for? To transcend to the forbidden realm and to be near to the source of the Universal Force!”

The Great Battle Emperor said coldly, “And yet the Goddess Theocracy Sect chooses to seal the Stellar Sanctuary. Does the Goddess Theocracy Sect wants to fight all the immortal clans at the same time?”

The Goddess Celestial Alice said quietly, “The true embodiment form of the Stellar Sanctuary will only appear in the Celestial Realm. Even if I unseal the Stellar Sanctuary and let it loose now, how many of you are able to descend to the Celestial Realm? Even if you have the means, the price to descend to the Celestial Realm is astronomical!”

She rose up to add coldly, “Surely you are all not fools. If the Stellar Sanctuary is unsealed, it will mean the end of our era and the beginning of the new era for the mortals. Do you want that to really happen?”

Great Lord Ahoha replied calmly, “That is the just the ancient prophecy of the Jade Emperor. Who knows if it is true? If he is able to prophesize our demise, why is that he is unable to prophesize his own demise?”

The Martial Sage of the Universal Truth, a Zen Immortal interrupted coldly, “The Zen Practitioners may not agree with the Goddess Celestial Alice wholly on this matter but we have our own reasons to think that the prophecy is real.”

The Northern Star Sage, an Autonomous Immortal quickly added. “I agree too. That one day the mortals will ascend to replace us. The first is the last and the last is the first! That is the prophecy of the Jade Emperor! Surely all of you know that time flows differently in the lower realm? A year here is like ten years in the Celestial Realm and a hundred years in the Mortal Realm. While we are bickering here for a year now, a hundred years have already passed in the Mortal Realm!”

Immortal Mortal Lord, an Arhat Immortal looked hesitantly at Great Lord Ahoha before saying. “Indeed it seems that that the Great God Fan Tian has the intention of letting the mortals succeed us or else the three realms would not have existed. In theory, the mortals have more time to further their practice than us… ”

Great Lord Ahoha interrupted, “It is not true. They have the time but they are mortals after all and can’t live that long. Moreover, the gap between the mortals and us are as vast as the boundless heavens. There is no way for them to succeed us. We have observed them for a long time. Sadly to say this; maybe one day they are able ascend to the Celestial Realm but to be an immortal practitioner, it is impossible. That is why we are the immortals and they are the mortals!”

The Goddess of Mercy smiled, “Simply put, they don’t have the infinity wisdom to succeed us at all.”

The Goddess Celestial Alice interrupted coldly, “Then maybe we should intervene and enlightened them!”

There were a large number of loud mutterings; many of the immortals were clearly shocked and amused!

The Eastern Sea Immortal King, an Autonomous Immortal laughed softly as he rose up to say. “My Eternal Goddess, you are indeed humorous. But surely you know that we cannot intervene directly in the realms below. Not only will our future enlightenment suffers as a result but endless calamity and sufferings will surely befall the realms below!”

The Goddess Celestial Alice hummed coldly as cold aura flared around her before she replied, “Indeed. Since the Stellar Sanctuary is destined for the mortals below, why are all of you so insistent on unsealing the Stellar Sanctuary? You know that without my Symphony of Destiny, it is impossible for any of you to do anything, am I right to say so?”

She emphasized coldly by adding, “Only I have the key to unseal the Stellar Sanctuary! Moreover, I am the High Priestess of the Great God Pangu. If I really unleashed the Stellar Sanctuary then my own enlightenment will surely suffer, not yours…”

Great Lord Ahoha interrupted with an equally coldly aura, “You are sketching the truth a little too far. The Great God Fan Tian promised us the Eternal Realm. All the immortals know that our ultimate purpose is to reach the Eternal Realm. Many of us will surely perish and only a few will find true enlightenment but as immortal practitioners, our true purpose is to seek knowledge and to further our own enlightenment. And the knowledge to true enlightenment is in the Stellar Sanctuary!”

The statements of the Great Lord Ahoha caused many of the immortal practitioners to mutter in agreement and that included half of the Zen Immortals!

The Goddess Celestial Alice swept a cold glance to all the Zen Immortals before smiling coldly to the rest of the immortals, “It is either you are with me or against me. If you really want to gain access to the Stellar Sanctuary, why don’t you try storming the Ninth Heavens and try to seize the physical form of the Stellar Sanctuary?”

She managed an amused smile before saying, “Oh, I seem to forget that most of you have not even reached the Cosmos Positioning yet so how are you able to see my beautiful realm? Maybe we should wait for all the eminent leaders of the immortal clans to reach my enlightenment first.”

Great Lord Ahoha was not just an immortal of the Cosmos Positioning but he was also an immortal of the Greater Cosmos Position which marked him as the highest level among the immortals!

He said coldly, “The Eternal Goddess is not the only immortal that has reached the Cosmos Positioning. There are dozens of immortals that are not here that have already reached the Cosmos Positioning. We only ask the Eternal Goddess not to stop us from seeking further enlightenment.”

At this many of the immortals began to agree and mutter their agreements!

The Goddess Celestial Alice looked at all the immortals quietly before sighing softly, “And what if I don’t agree?”

The Goddess of Mercy smiled coldly as she offered a suggestion, “Then you shall bear the consequences and of course, there will be a little war that will see the end of the Goddess Theocracy Sect. What do you think?”

The Goddess Celestial Alice gave a warm smile before replying enchantingly, “Then so shall it be. From the First Heavens to the Ninth Heavens, war shall it be!”

Chapter 2: The First Immortals



Tall pine like trees lined the mountain slopes below the lofty white heavens. The scenic views as Yi Ping and his group made their first ascend were breathtaking beautiful!

The drifting lofty white heavens, evergreen landscape below and the endless mountains ascending in front of them one after the other were beautiful to behold!

But no one was in a mood to admire the breathtaking sceneries!

It was because at this moment they had all been captivated by the Goddess of Mercy as she explained the brief history of the immortals and why they were here.

The Goddess of Mercy said gently, “That is how the conflicts between the Zen and Arhat Practitioners had escalated into a full blown conflict.”

She sighed softly, “The Great Lord Ahoha had led us against the Goddess Theocracy Sect and her allies. At the start of the campaign, we managed to gain grounds from the Second to the Sixth Heavens. At first, it may seem that we are winning but in the end, the tide slowly turned against us and Great Lord Ahoha met his demise. We have not only lost, we have lost really badly and in order to broker for a truce, we are forbidden to intervene in the Immortal Realm for ten millennium years. Ten long millennium years…”

Han Lin asked curiously, “Huh? Why is that so? Since you have gained grounds in five of the Heavens?”

The Goddess Isa smiled demurely as she explained, “While they have gained grounds in five of the Heavens, it doesn’t mean that these five Heavens are wholly in their control. But of course, the most important battleground is still in the First Heavens and that is the domain that the Goddess Theocracy Sect exerted its strongest influence.”

Han Lin asked again, “Why is that the First Heavens is the most important battleground?”

The Goddess Aiel laughed softly, “Han Lin, you really have a lot of questions.”

Han Lin laughed softly as she blinked her eyes at the rest of the group, “You know, I am asking on behalf of the rest. I am sure that they are curious as well.”

The Universal Old Man laughed aloud as he touched his chin; he had forgotten that he had shaved his beard. He quickly said, “That is right. We are really curious to know everything that we can learn about the Immortal Realm.”

Yi Ping rubbed his nose as he added too, “That is right…”

The Goddess Aiel laughed softly, “But it seems that Yi Ping is not really that interested.”

Yi Ping sighed softly as he replied melancholy, “I am just saddened that so many have perished in this needless war.”

Everyone began to look at Yi Ping quietly as one by one, they nodded quietly…

Yixian smiled gently as she said to him, “Ping’Er, don’t be sad. It is all in the past. There is nothing we can do.”

Yi Ping sighed again as he nodded.

Lie Qing smiled mesmerizing, “It seems that the Immortal Realm is not any different from the Martial Fraternity. No matter. If that is the rule then we must play by the rules!”

Youxue stole a look at Yi Ping as she smiled enthralling, “We must not be discouraged and should look forward. It is really not easy for us to reach this point at all. After all that we have been through, we are giving it all up? Life and death may be predestined but if our resolve is not strong, we will not have any fighting chance at all against these powerful immortal practitioners!”

Lingfeng knew that Yi Ping was secretly worried for them. As she looked at him, her eyes began to water.

As Yi Ping looked at Youxue, he was reminded that Youxue had suffered more than any of the maidens that he had known. The burdens and the fugitive life that she had led was not something that anyone, not even himself would be able to endure.

Yi Ping had noticed her enthralling eyes immediately and he quickly looked away. But as he looked away, he noticed that Lingfeng’s alluring eyes were looking at him!

Not only Lingfeng was looking at him, Yang Min, Jing’Er, Shi Shi, Lele, the Celeste Wind Maiden, Lie Qing, Yixian, the Goddess Aiel, the Goddess Isa and Han Lin were all looking intently at him!

Yi Ping quickly pretended to show interest by asking the Goddess Aiel, “Aiel, it seems that the First Heavens plays a crucial role. Why is that so?”

The Goddess Aiel laughed softly as she continued, “It is because the First Heavens is where most of the immortal practitioners congregated. Even if we add up all the immortal practitioners from the Second Heavens to the Ninth Heavens, it is not even one tenth of the numbers in the First Heavens!”

Yang Min was clearly startled, “Then how many practitioners are there in the First Heavens alone?”

The Goddess Aiel laughed, “No one really knows but it should be around one million.”

Everyone was stunned at the numbers!

Lele asked curiously, “Then doesn’t that make the First Heavens a really crowded place?”

The Goddess Aiel shook her head, “It is even more desolate than the Celestial Realm. You can’t imagine how vast the First Heavens is and how many millenniums the last immortal war had been waging.”

All of a sudden Yi Ping asked, “It seems to me that the immortal practitioners that are in the First Heavens are weaker than the rest of the immortal practitioners of the other Heavens but yet they play such a crucial role. Isn’t that an irony? Maybe the Jade Emperor is right? The mortals from the lower realm may one day be greater than the immortal practitioners in the Immortal Realm?”

The Goddess of Mercy was startled as she looked at Yi Ping. For all her infinite wisdom she had never really thought of that and had dismissed the prophecy of the Jade Emperor!

The Goddess Isa was also startled as she looked curiously at Yi Ping before she said, “Maybe.”

Yi Ping said, “It seems that the number of immortal practitioners that are in the Immortal Realm will never increase?”

The Goddess Isa nodded slowly, “That is right.”

Yi Ping asked again, “So that means that the number of immortal practitioners have decreased considerably by now?”

Again the Goddess Isa nodded quietly.

Yi Ping asked, “And now many of the more capable immortal practitioners are heading here to seek the secrets of the Stellar Sanctuary. And quite a few may have already met their demise?”

The Goddess Isa nodded slowly again.

Yi Ping sighed melancholy, “The only way for the number of immortal practitioners to increase is for the celestial practitioners to become immortal practitioners. But that doesn’t seem to be happening. It seems that the current Immortals are not willing to help the celestial practitioners to become immortal practitioners…”

The Goddess Aiel said quietly, “Not at all. There are many other immortals, including the Goddess Celestial Alice that advocate for the enlightenment of the mortals. But the path to true enlightenment is really so difficult that words cannot describe it. That is why there are also many immortals that have long given up for the mortals to attain true enlightenment and to join us.”

The Goddess of Mercy said, “That is why it is impossible for the mortals to replace us. That is the main reason why we have refused to believe the prophecy of the Jade Emperor as the universal truth.”

Yi Ping began to ponder again before he asked, “This Jade Emperor…who is he? I happen to know one Jade Emperor that is in the Mortal Realm.”

At this the Goddess of Mercy turned very pale before she muttered, “Let hope that they are not the same. But…”

She stole a glance at Lele coldly, “Good sister, you still hasn’t explained to me where you learn your Celestial Force from?”

She looked a little melancholy before she asked again, “I have paid a heavy price with my internal strength…”

Lie Qing, Youxue and Lingfeng almost choked when they had heard it. They really did not know whether to laugh or cry!

It was because they had quietly observed the changes in the Goddess of Mercy over the past few days. In no time she had shed away her haughty self and had quickly learnt several subtle tactics from the rest of the maidens.

It was obvious that she was trying to get Yi Ping’s sympathy!

Yi Ping was sighing, “Alas! It is wrong to steal the internal strength of others.”

Indeed Yi Ping had fallen for it!

Even the Universal Old Man was shaking his head as he sighed softly, “What a pity!”

Yang Min raised her eyebrows as she thought ruefully, “Just because a beautiful maiden intentionally shed a little tear, it is really unbelievable that so many worldly wise men will actually fall for it. Or is it because some men never learn?”

Even Han Lin was smiling weakly for everyone could see that the Goddess of Mercy was pretending to be melancholy. Everyone except for Yi Ping and the Universal Old Man!

The Goddess of Mercy continued to add, “You must know that I am such an eminent immortal practitioner. To lose my internal strength…”

Lele stammered out, “Well, that is enough. You are even more irritating than me! You only lost a little of your internal strength. This doesn’t affect your techniques and fighting strength at all. You really think that I do not know that the Goddess Asura and you have not even displayed your utmost martial strength? Or else I will drain just this meagre amount of your internal strength!”

The Goddess of Mercy flashed Lele an annoyed look but she hesitated to raise her hands against her because she had noticed that Yixian, Lie Qing and Youxue had all stepped protective around Lele!

Yixian said gently, “The Goddess of Mercy? If you want to get along with us, shouldn’t you at the very least tell us your name?”

The Goddess of Mercy lifted her eyes to look at Yixian.

She began to sigh softly. She had already learnt that this Yixian was Yi Ping’s rightful wife. She had been secretly observing her for a few days and her magnanimity did not seem to be an act.

The Goddess of Mercy replied quietly, “You are Yixian?”

She was stating the obvious!

But Yixian smiled gently at her and replied gently, “Yes, that is my common name.”

The Goddess of Mercy nodded as she said, “I know you as Ishtar in the past. It seems…that you have changed so much.”

Slowly she glanced over to look at Yi Ping as she lit a beautiful smile.

Yi Ping was startled when she had suddenly smiled at him!

And he wondered why as he thought, “Why did she suddenly smile at me?”

The Goddess of Mercy soon answered his question as she looked at him, “Yes, the Goddess of Mercy is my immortal title. As for my name, it is…”

Her eyes lit up as she looked at Yi Ping before saying shyly, “…it is Gusu Xiang. Xiang as in fragrance. Pardon my rudeness. I have forgotten to introduce myself. It will really look bad for the groom not to know his bride name. Am I right?”

The Goddess Isa was stunned at the chic shyness of the Goddess of Mercy. She could hardly believe that this was the Goddess of Mercy herself and that an imposter had actually taken her place!

Even the Goddess Aiel was stunned as she thought, “Is she really the Goddess of Mercy? I don’t believe my eyes…”

The Goddess of Mercy proceeded to say, “Yi Ping? You are not happy to know my name?”

Yi Ping was already quite embarrassed by now because he had noticed that all the other maidens were quietly looking at him and waiting to see his response!

He quickly bowed with his hands to say, “I am happy. Really happy…” he began to hesitate a little because he was thinking what to say next.

The Goddess of Mercy appeared to be hurt and Yi Ping could feel it immediately due to his divine attainment in the Great Emptiness Translucence!

This caused him to be even more awkward!

The Goddess of Mercy asked hurtfully, “Then why didn’t you call my name?”

Her sudden plea struck Yi Ping like a thunderbolt!

Yi Ping began to stammer, “Maiden Gusu…”

Again the Goddess of Mercy appeared to be hurt as she displayed a hurtful expression as she muttered, “You don’t have to be so polite. It is too polite.”

Yi Ping quickly stammered out, “Maiden Xiang…”

Again the Goddess of Mercy looked at him hurtfully!

Yi Ping was all flustered by now and he had broken into cold sweat. It was because the looks that everyone had given him and from the melancholy looks of the Goddess of Mercy that was upon him; it appeared to him that time seemed to have suddenly frozen in place. Every moment seemed like an eternity to him!

He stammered again, “Xiang’Er…”

The Goddess of Mercy seemed to have been pacified and she returned a delighted look at him. It seemed like the darkness had suddenly been lifted and Yi Ping was suddenly breathing normally again!

She smiled shyly, “Ping’Er…”

Lele was about to say something when Lingfeng interrupted unhappy, “Humph! The two of you seem to have forgotten about the rest of us? If you have any mushy words to say, find a private place to do so!”

Lele smiled, “It seems that Sister Lingfeng is envious!”

Lingfeng shot an amused look at her, “Yes I am envy but speaks for yourself first!”

Lele laughed softly, “I didn’t start it first.”

She pointed at Yi Ping and the Goddess of Mercy, “They did!”

All of a sudden the Goddess of Mercy appeared to be solemn as she asked, “But truly, are we not sisters now? I have already shared what I know but shouldn’t you tell me more about the Jade Emperor that you know?”

Yi Ping looked at Lele before he said, “I will but may I know why you seem to fear this Jade Emperor? I really do not think that they are the same person.”

The Goddess of Mercy took a quick glance at the Goddess Aiel and the Goddess Isa who nodded gently at her before she said quietly, “Every realm must have a dominant ruler, am I right to say so? Just like all the clans also have their principal leaders.”

Yi Ping nodded.

The Goddess of Mercy hesitatingly, “So the Jade Emperor was actually the ruler of the Immortal Realm in the past and all the immortals had to pay homage to him. He was very ancient and is the first generation immortal. Do you know that even the Goddess Celestial Alice and most of the most powerful immortals in the Immortal Realm are only considered second generation immortals?”

Lingfeng, the Universal Old Man, Shi Shi, Jing’Er, Han Lin, Yang Min and the Celeste Wind Maiden were all exchanging astonished look!

This was news to them and they made a mental note to remember it. The celestial practitioners in the Celestial Realm knew very little about the immortals.

The Universal Old Man interrupted curiously, “Then there must be other first generation immortals too, am I right?”

The Goddess of Mercy nodded as she replied, “However, these first generation immortals are few in numbers. Excluding the Jade Emperor, they numbered exactly thirty-three! However their states of divinities are all much greater than the rest of the second generation immortals and they are capable of several divine practices that seemed impossible to attain for most of the immortals.”

She looked at Lele before saying, “For example, uncanny divinations and of course the accursed Celestial Force Divine Skill!”

She began to sigh melancholy, “That is why I have my own reasons to suspect that the Jade Emperor that you have known in the realm below is the one and the same!”

The Goddess Isa nodded as she said quietly, “The Goddess of Mercy is right. The Celestial Force is an immortal skill and exceedingly powerful.”

Yi Ping asked, “But since the Jade Emperor is the ruler of the Immortal Realm why is he in the Mortal Realm now? This makes no sense?”

The Goddess Isa said quietly, “If the Jade Emperor did not meet with his demise then there is a chance that he has sought refuge in the Mortal Realm to recuperate.”

The Goddess of Mercy nodded with a soft sigh, “That is only logical. It is because most immortals are not able to descend to the Mortal Realm and he has an advantage there…”

The Goddess Aiel continued for her, “…he will be able to cultivate a hundred times faster than anyone of us!”

The Universal Old Man was mystified as he asked, “But the Mortal Realm isn’t a good training ground. The spiritual force there isn’t as fulfilling as the Celestial Realm or the Immortal Realm for sure. Moreover if he stays there, his state of divinity will surely be stuck!”

The Goddess of Mercy smirked coldly, “Don’t be too sure about that first. If you are the Jade Emperor and you have already reached the highest state of divinity, will you care much about attaining a new state of divinity?”

The Universal Old Man stammered, “Oh well…maybe not but still it doesn’t make any sense!”

The Goddess Isa offered a suggestion, “What if his goal is to cultivate his internal strength or to gather the heavenly relics in the Mortal Realm?”

The Universal Old Man shook his head as he looked at Lingfeng, “My Heaveness, what do you think? It doesn’t make any sense to me. Only in the upper realm and with a breakthrough in a higher state of divinity can our skills and strength be improved. It makes no sense to stay in the lower realm. We are there for a long time; not only did our cultivation did not improved, our state of divinity seem to decline as well. Maybe it is because we don’t have any worthy opponents there. And you…even…”

There was a glitter of watery teary in Lingfeng’s eyes as she replied melancholy, “…and I have even taken my own life. Is that what you want to say?”

Yi Ping murmured, “Lingfeng…”

Lingfeng smiled alluringly at Yi Ping, “But I am content now. I have experienced what is mortal suffering and what is…”

Yixian and Lie Qing stammered out, “…love…”

Lingfeng nodded at them as she smiled, “And because of what I have experienced and learnt, I have advanced my divinity. Isn’t it a good thing?”

Lie Qing looked at Yi Ping as she said, “I have never thought that I will be able to experience a breakthrough in my Invincible Divine Force until I met Yi Ping…”

Yixian had a shimmering tear in her eyes that even her Emotionless Rhyme could not suppress as she muttered coarsely, “I have never thought that I will pull through my Divine Calamity either and advanced my martial skills to a new level.”

Yi Ping muttered, “Everyone…”

The Universal Old Man smiled weakly, “I think we have better discussed about the Jade Emperor. What exactly happens in the Immortal Realm in the past?”

The Goddess Isa hesitated as she looked at the Goddess Aiel and the Goddess of Mercy before saying quietly, “A long time ago, the Jade Emperor made a divination that one day the mortals will inherit the mantle of the Great God Pangu. Afterwards, he made several divine interventions at the detrimental of his own attainment to help the mortals attain awareness of the Heavens above. Naturally this did not go too well with the rest of the immortals who believe that the Jade Emperor is damaging the interest of the immortals.”

She looked at the Heaveness, the Universal Old Man and Han Lin, “The Ancient Celestials, the Dragon Practitioners, they are the first generation celestial practitioners that the Jade Emperor has helped.”

Han Lin was startled, “The mysterious immortal practitioner that has given us the Green Dragon Divine Sword is the Jade Emperor?!”

The Goddess Isa nodded, “Indeed! The Green Dragon Divine Sword is an immortal sword of the Jade Emperor. There is no doubt about this.”

Han Lin began to shiver as she muttered tearfully, “Finally…I have learnt his great name! I have not let my elders down…I know his great name now…”

Han Lin shot the Goddess Isa, the Goddess Aiel and the Goddess of Mercy a bloodshot look, “And because of his interventions, the rest of the immortals took up arms against him?”

The Goddess of Mercy replied, “You must know that everything must be in perfect harmony. The Jade Emperor and his seven Heavenly Kings failed to keep the harmony and invited self-destruction. The Dragon Practitioners fail to cultivate their self and invited their own self-destruction.”

Han Lin hummed coldly, “So you are saying that might makes right and the victors are the righteous side?”

The Goddess of Mercy replied, “What else.”

Han Lin stepped forward as she raised her hands, “You! You…”

Yi Ping said gently to her, “Han Lin, be pacified alright? I am sure Maiden Xiang…Xiang’Er did not mean it.”

The Goddess of Mercy began to fluster as she thought, “He is calling…my name! So sweet!”

Even Han Lin was looking docile at Yi Ping!

Yi Ping said, “It is all in the past. Let’s don’t dwell too much on it, alright?”

Han Lin and the Goddess of Mercy nodded quietly to him without looking at each other.

Lele yawned softly, “Grandpa isn’t an immortal practitioner. I am sure of it. Or else he won’t be constantly thinking about the Celestial Realm.”

Yi Ping said gently to her, “Lele maybe you have been too close to your grandpa and is blinded to the obvious. Your grandpa has never been to the Celestial Realm but he seems to know quite a lot about the upper realms. I wonder why. Also…”

Lele asked curiously, “What do you mean?”

Yi Ping sighed softly as he looked at Yixian, Lie Qing, Youxue and Lingfeng as he asked, “Do you all remember what the eyes’ colour of the Jade Emperor is?”

It was because they had seen the Jade Emperor previously!

Lele yawned softly, “Crimson naturally!”

Yixian and Lie Qing looked at each curiously. It was because Lele was right!

Youxue’s eyes began to shine and even Lingfeng had a startled expression!

It was because they had remembered that the eyes of the Jade Emperor were black when they had first met him but it had changed to crimson when Lele arrived on the scene!

Youxue and Lingfeng immediately exchanged knowing glances!

At that time Yunzi had said to them, “His eyes are not crimson and his hair isn’t completely silver. Yet he claims to be the Jade Emperor. How do we know if it is true?”

Yi Ping had asked quite bluntly, “Why aren’t your eyes crimson? Are you a Dark Celestial? Are all of you Dark Celestials?”


The Jade Emperor laughed, “Practitioners of the internal martial arts are able to suppress their internal strength and even their state of divinity. Therefore this is not a real surprise at all.”

The Jade Emperor added a smile after noticing Yi Ping’s expression, “Am I a Dark Celestial? What do you really think?”

But Shen Xingyue had expressed doubts and had told them her views on it much later. It was because it was easier said than done. Even though her Divine Rejuvenation Force was an epitome internal skill, it was unlike the absorbing skill of the Celestial Force which could suppress even the practitioner’s own martial strength. Moreover, to be able to do so was an indication of the practitioner’s level. Even for the Celestial Liege and Lele, they were not able to accomplish that.

Youxue muttered softly, “Come to think of it now, it now makes perfectly sense now. Why anyone would want to suppress their own internal strength? Isn’t that already telling us that it is weird?”

Lingfeng was muttering, “To think that we are all smart people but we have all miss the most obvious. At that time, Sister Xingyue is the most powerful celestial practitioner that is with us. She is an Ascend Level Celestial and yet Lele’s grandpa took only one stroke to defeat her…”

At that time Shen Xingyue was moving at a startling speed against the Celestial Liege but she was interrupted by the Jade Emperor who had moved with even startling speed than her!

Yi Ping asked, “Xingyue’s speed is legendary. Who can intervene in her attacks and defeat her at the same time with just a single stroke?”

Yixian, Lie Qing, Youxue and Lingfeng nodded slowly because they now see the obvious!

Lie Qing smiled weakly, “We have all forgotten that Sister Xingyue is an Ascend Level Celestial and her most astonishing martial skill is her speed.”

The Celeste Wind Maiden smiled, “When I got the chance, I will want to duel with her. I wonder who is better.”

Lele laughed softly, “Let me know please. It will be interesting to know the outcome.”

Yi Ping said exasperatingly, “Lele, I rather not let it happen.”

Lingfeng smiled bitterly as she said all of a sudden, “Then we can conclude that the Jade Emperor that we know is the one and the same as the immortal that they know?”

The Goddess of Mercy said quietly, “Who else knows the Celestial Force?”

Yi Ping nodded, “Lele’s grandpa may be pretending that he doesn’t know anything about the Celestial Realm but at the same time he seems to know a lot too. Isn’t that a contradiction?”

Yi Ping had remembered very clearly that the Jade Emperor had said to Lele just before they had departed for the Celestial Realm, “This is not shameful. The Virtuous Palace is renowned for their swordplay. In the upper realm, there are many powerful opponents. So be careful. Don’t forget to refine your sword techniques or else even if you have a divine sword in your hand, it is just a useless toy.”

Lele asked, “Really but…”

Yi Ping shook his head as he sighed softly, “There are no other explanations!”

Lele took a sly look at Yi Ping before saying, “Ping’Er then I think you are really in trouble!”

Yi Ping was startled, “Huh? I am in trouble?”

Lele answered solemnly as she winked at him, “Yes you are. It is because you have stolen my Grandpa’s Heavenly Relics.”

Yi Ping was stunned as he looked at Lele blankly, “As though you don’t have a hand?”

Lele laughed jovially as she winked playfully at him, “Do you think that my grandpa will bear to punish me?”

All of a sudden the small Kirin cub who everyone had almost forgotten began to rumble excitingly as it began to run in circles around Yi Ping!

Yi Ping was startled, “What is it? What is it that you are trying to tell me?”

Lele said playfully, “Maybe it is hungry, that is all!”

The Goddess of Mercy and the Goddess Isa were alarmed; they were scanning their surroundings warily!

Hopefully Yi Ping will have a revelation or two throughout this book, but seriously his harem is just getting out of hand at this point all of these maiden fawning over him, yet he still doesn't have many kids by them yet. too bad he is constantly fighting and doesn't have the time to enjoy his worldly desires with all of them because I mean who would when most of them are his LEGAL wives mind you (Sigh).... it's just that how much luck does this guy have considering the previous two books? I wouldn't be surprised if you said that he was related to the great god person(forgot their name sorry), or something along those lines at this point. Yi Ping asked the Goddess Isa and the Goddess of Mercy, “Someone is near us?”

The Goddess Isa smiled wryly, “I am about to ask you if you are able to sense anyone.”

Yi Ping shook his head.

Yixian and Youxue were also looking warily at their surroundings. They were secretly afraid; it was because if their opponents’ martial level were in the league as the Goddess Isa, the Goddess Asura or even the Goddess of Mercy then it was nearly impossible for them to sense such opponents!

The Goddess Isa pointed at the golden Kirin cub as she said quietly, “This little thing here is able to sniff a stranger from miles away. It seems to be telling us that someone or something is approaching us!”

Lele asked curiously, “What are we afraid of? We have four immortal practitioners here now. Surely it is not necessary to be afraid? Or maybe they are people that we know.”

Indeed their group had four immortal practitioners now; the Goddess Isa, the Goddess Aiel, the Goddess of Mercy and the Joyful Goddess Lele!

The Universal Old Man sighed softly when he had heard Lele. He was envious and longed to be an immortal practitioner!

He was now short of one final tribulation to become an immortal practitioner and he had finally learnt earlier that the name of the final heavenly tribulation was the Heaven Sundering Divine Calamity!

But the problem was that he had no idea how difficult the Heaven Sundering Divine Calamity was. He had also no idea if that was going to be his next tribulation or how to trigger it! Moreover what was worrying was that he had not opened his Heaven Eyes yet!

In fact he was quietly pondering to himself, “Should I open my Heaven Eyes forcibly so that I can be better prepared for this last heavenly tribulation? But I may lose my life in the process…alas…even that old freak the Immortal Saint of Swords has already awakened his Heaven Eyes….even the Heaveness…”

The Goddess of Mercy replied warily, “This little thing here is a golden Kirin and it is alone. If it is its mother that is looking for her cub then we may be in for a really nasty fight. I will suggest tying this little thing here and then we flee as fast as we can!”

The Goddess Aiel agreed as she muttered softly, “You have no idea how tough a Golden Kirin is…”

Yi Ping was sighing melancholy, “I know...it is because a Golden Kirin once shelters us from the worst of the Divine Calamities…”

The Goddess Aiel was startled as she asked, “Really?!”

Shi Shi nodded as she said, “That Golden Kirin sheltered us from at least twenty powerful lightning calamities and a meteor calamity. It had not only saved our lives but had also aided us in our celestial progression…”

Yang Min asked, “So that is why sister you are an Ancient Celestial now?”

Shi Shi nodded melancholy as she looked at Yi Ping.

Yi Ping was trembling as he recalled the event, “That Golden Kirin gave up its life so that we can all overcome our divine tribulation. That is why I am a Golden Celestial now…”

The Goddess of Mercy was startled, “Really? Why should that Golden Kirin helps you at the cost of its life? I find it hard to believe…”

The Goddess Isa answered quietly, “It is because that Golden Kirin had recognized Yi Ping.”

The Goddess of Mercy asked, “Explain please?”

The Goddess Isa sighed softly, “Or rather, that Golden Kirin had recognized Yi Ping as the Dark Chaos Lord.”

This time the Goddess of Mercy was stunned as she looked at Yi Ping from top to bottom, “You are really the Dark Chaos Lord?!”

She turned to look at the Goddess Isa, “For real?”

The Goddess Isa looked at her, “Why should I lie to you? Funny. You have recognized the divine sword of the Dark Cosmos Lord but you can’t recognize his real person?”

The Goddess of Mercy took a step back as she stared blankly at Yi Ping, “It can’t be. It is impossible …are you really the Dark Chaos Lord?”

Yi Ping sighed softly but he kept quiet!

The Goddess Isa giggled softly.

But it only made the Goddess of Mercy even more suspicious as she asked Yi Ping, “You really do not know or you are not willing to tell me?”

Yi Ping looked at her gently, “Is that really important to you?”

The Goddess of Mercy eyed the Goddess Isa, “Are you kidding me?”

The Goddess Isa laughed slyly, “Why don’t you ask him? Can’t you tell that he is at the Seventh Cosmos Positioning?”

The Goddess of Mercy looked at Yi Ping in disbelief as she asked, “Really? That is not a bluff?”

It was because she had overheard Yi Ping telling Lord Tian Zhong that he was at the Seventh Cosmos Positioning but she had thought that Yi Ping was doing a bluff to frighten off Lord Tian Zhong.

She asked again, “If your Heaven Eyes is at the Seventh Cosmos Positioning, why is that you cannot even handle Lord Tian Zhong?”

Yi Ping rubbed his nose as he smiled weakly!

All of a sudden the Goddess of Mercy was looking at the Goddess Isa with an equally mystified expression, “Why is that you can’t defeat Lord Tian Zhong? He may be powerful but it is impossible for him to gain an advantage over you. After all, you are on the same level of divinity as me!”

This time round it was the Goddess Isa that was smiling weakly!

It was indeed quite an embarrassing fight for her and it was something that she had wanted to forget as soon as possible!

The Goddess of Mercy did not know that prior to fighting with Lord Tian Zhong, Yi Ping and the Goddess Isa had been through several trials that had sapped most all their martial strength. It was already startling that they could put up such a determined fight against Lord Tian Zhong!

All of a sudden the Goddess of Mercy raised her right hand into a sword finger stance as she aimed at Yi Ping!

As she aimed at Yi Ping, there were two brilliant rainbow lights that were on the tip of her second and middle fingers and another brilliant rainbow hue on her palm!

The Goddess Isa gasped in alarm, “The Three Pinnacle Flower Stance!”

Even Yixian, Lie Qing, Shi Shi, Yang Min, the Celeste Wind Maiden, the Goddess Aiel and Han Lin were startled!

It was because this Three Pinnacle Flower Stance was a mystical level in internal strength art; internal strength practitioners that could not reach her level of internal strength pureness simply could not execute this Three Pinnacle Flower Stance!

How pure was pure and how refine was the pureness of her internal strength?

Needless to say, the practitioner had to be Lesser Cosmos Positioning and above!

The Goddess Aiel was startled as she called out panicky to Yi Ping, “Yi Ping, be careful! Don’t engage her!”

When the first exchange had occurred, an outburst of burning martial force had flared around them and all the grasses around them had suddenly burnt into flames!

Everyone could feel the burning intensity of their internal energies!

Indeed it was an exchange of internal strength!

When the second exchange had occurred, all the grasses around them had turned into wisps of smoke and the ground beneath them had changed charcoal black!

When the third exchange had occurred, the air around them was distorted with wavering heat!

Everyone was gasping and was anxious!

It was because internal strength exchange was very different from martial power exchange. Not only was it dangerous, the outcome was also unpredictable and it was not possible to restraint once it had been initiated!

When the three strikes had ended, both Yi Ping and the Goddess of Mercy were breathing hard and they were perspiring!

Slowly the Goddess of Mercy staggered backward as she asked astonishingly, “You…have really reached the Seventh Cosmos Positioning?”

It was because Yi Ping had calmly deflected all three of her attacks with his palm!

Yi Ping was breathing less hard than her but it took him a little effort to say, “Yes!”

The Goddess of Mercy was stunned at this revelation!

It was because none of the immortals had ever attained to this level before except for the Dark Chaos Lord and the Jade Emperor!

The Goddess Isa had also broken into cold sweat as she said unhappily to the Goddess of Mercy, “You shouldn’t have done that. Anyone who isn’t at least in the Heaven Positioning may have perished immediately!”

The Goddess of Mercy replied weakly but her glance was fixed on Yi Ping, “I did warn him. If he had stepped back then I will definitely restraint myself so you don’t have to worry too much.”

Yixian and Lie Qing were exchanging secret looks!

It was because they had just witnessed the Three Pinnacle Flower Stance, a theoretical internal art skill that was not thought possible!

All of a sudden the Goddess Isa, the Goddess of Mercy, Yi Ping, the Goddess Aiel, Yixian, Youxue and Lingfeng had frozen in their tracks!

And the golden Kirin cub was now howling and jumping even wilder!

Yi Ping’s heart was pounding hard!

A heavenly maiden had quietly appeared. In her right hand were a beheaded head and the Green Dragon Sacred Sword!

Immediately, the golden Kirin cub began to run toward her and sat quietly beside her!

But when Yi Ping saw her again, he was still stunned by her appearance!

It was because she was completely different now!

She was surrounded by air of elegance; even her golden phoenix and green peacock silken long robe that she was wearing had the effect of amplifying her elegant poise!

But at the same time she had a forbidden aura. This was further amplified by the many golden phoenix eyes and peacock eyes that reflected and surrounded her with multiple golden and green hues!

Yi Ping could scarcely believe that she was Maiden Ziyan as he stammered out, “Maiden…Ziyan?”

But at the same time Han Lin had turned ashen and so did many of the maidens!

The Universal Old Man was staring at the blood soak beheaded head; it was the Reverend Sacred Sage who was also Han Lin’s protégé brother Chu Mingfan!

The Universal Old Man stammered, “You have killed the Reverend Sacred Sage?”

Even the Goddess Aiel had turned pale. It was because like her, Chu Mingfan was also one of the two Ascendant Custodians of the Holy Ascension Sect. His martial skills were not weaker than the Lord Supreme!

Han Lin was trembling as she looked at the Goddess Celestial Alice with bloodshot eyes, “Are you the one that killed and beheaded my protégé brother?”

The Goddess Celestial Alice replied coldly, “Isn’t that obvious? Yes I did.”

Han Lin replied coldly, “Then don’t blame me for taking vengeance for my protégé brother!”

The Goddess Aiel was also trembling as she asked coldly, “What did you do with Old Reverend Vanquisher Sage?”

Yixian asked coldly, “What did you do with Yu’Er and Mei’Er?”

Yi Ping was also trembling as he asked, “Xingyue, Ye Yin…where are they? Where is Yu’Er? Where is Mei’Er?”

It was because the Shen Xingyue, Ye Yin, Yu’Er, Mei’Er and Old Reverend Vanquisher Sage were in the same group as Reverend Sacred Sage!

The Goddess Isa said coldly to the Goddess Celestial Alice, “So we have met again. It seems that this fight is inevitable.”

The Goddess of Mercy whispered to the Goddess Isa, “We are on the same side now. She is a dangerous foe.”

The Goddess Celestial Alice lifted her golden eyes to look at the Goddess of Mercy, “Why are you here? Do you not know that I have passed an edict forbidding all the other immortal practitioners from entering the Stellar Sanctuary?”

She proceeded to look at the Goddess Isa before saying, “And that applies to you as well, Isa.”

And in the same instant she had swept her glance at Lele before adding coldly, “I can’t believe it. You have actually attained as an immortal practitioner now? I have never seen anyone progress as fast as you.”

It was as though Lele knew what she was going to say next so she immediately protested weakly, “It is not my fault that I have suddenly attained as an immortal practitioner in the Stellar Sanctuary! You are not being fair to me. It is not as if I am able to get out of this accursed place. I wish I could though!”

The Goddess Aiel was also muttering, “I just unsealed my Heaven Eyes too…”

Han Lin had suddenly flown next to the Goddess Celestial Alice, raising her hand against her as she shouted angrily. “You demoness!”

But as soon as she had attacked, she was knocked back and was slammed onto the ground when the Goddess Celestial Alice fluttered her sleeves aside!

Yi Ping immediately caught hold of Han Lin as he asked anxiously, “Han Lin, are you alright?”

The Goddess Celestial Alice tossed the beheaded head and the Green Dragon Sacred Sword in front of Han Lin!

The Green Dragon Sacred Sword was extremely heavy but she had tossed it effortlessly!

She said coldly, “Your rage emotions have attacked your heart. In your current state you are not my match. At least calm yourself first if you want to take your vendetta. Or else even if you have the Green Dragon Sacred Sword in your hands, it is still pointless.”

Han Lin was in tears as she stared blankly at the beheaded head of Chu Mingfan, “That is none of your business!”

The Goddess Isa said quietly to her, “Han Lin, stay calm if we want to win.” as she unsheathed her Divine Constellation Sword and at the same time the Goddess of Mercy had raised her Heavens Sundering Mirror threateningly!

The Goddess of Mercy said icily, “Alice, no matter how skillful you are it is not possible for you to overcome us at the same time.”

Yi Ping pleaded exasperating, “Maiden Ziyan, Isa, Maiden Gusu, Han Lin…let’s talk it over first…”

But the Goddess Isa and the Goddess of Mercy were already encircling the Goddess Celestial Alice threateningly!

Han Lin had also picked up the Green Dragon Sacred Sword and was poising a strike on the Goddess Celestial Alice!

The Celeste Wind Maiden was looking at the Goddess Celestial Alice cautiously as she thought, “So this is the Goddess Celestial Alice? How strong is she?”

The Goddess Aiel said quietly to her, “Xiao Qian, step back. Don’t ever think of it. This is a fight between the immortals.”

She turned to look at Han Lin, “Han Lin, step back now. I order you!”

But Han Lin said coldly, “After what she had just said to you? Do you think that she will let you off just like that? Have you forgotten how you have lost your immortal status the last time? You should join hands with us against her instead!”

The Goddess Aiel replied indifferently, “It is better to be punished than losing my life.”

Yi Ping said solemnly, “It ought to be a misunderstanding. Let’s talk over first…”

Han Lin cried out exasperatingly, “Yi Ping! Didn’t you hear what she has just said? She has killed my protégé brother! She has admitted herself!”

Yi Ping had stepped forward as he asked with a soft sigh, “Maiden Ziyan, where are the rest? Where are Yu’Er, Mei’Er, Shen Xingyue and Ye Yin? I know that you have a kind heart and wouldn’t hurt them. Surely you must have your own difficulties. Why don’t you tell us…”

The Goddess Celestial Alice interrupted him abruptly, “I don’t have a kind heart or else I would have died many times over. If you want to take a last look at them, follow me!”

Without waiting for Yi Ping to reply, she had turned around and disappeared in the shadows of the dense forest!

The Goddess Isa said immediately as she sped after her, “After her! Don’t let her get away!”

She was followed immediately by the Goddess of Mercy and Han Lin!

Lie Qing said anxiously, “Ping’Er, let’s go after them but it could be a trap. We must be careful!”

Yixian the Celestial Fairy said gently, “We may not know what is happening but no matter, we must stop them from fighting.”

Yi Ping could only sigh softly, “Let’s go!”

He had really never expected to meet Maiden Ziyan under this tense circumstance!

He knew that the Goddess Isa and the Goddess of Mercy had a feud with the Goddess Celestial Alice but he really did not want them to fight. Why was it that Maiden Ziyan seemed completely different now?
