Some observations and questions from the death of Yip Ling in the fifth book of LUK SIU FUNG, THE HAUNTED VALLEY.

NOTE: this information is from HKTVB's 1978 adaptation of LUK SIU FUNG, Book 5, and might not reflect events in the novel. If so, then disregard.

In the adaptation's depiction of events, at least, Yip Ling was killed by her adoptive father, Yip Ling Fung, using his Heart-Shattering Palm skill.

Yip Ling mortally wounded Yip Ling Fung first, stabbing him in the chest with her sword.

The odd part is that the mortally-wounded Yip Ling Fung was able to hold off both Old Sabre Tyrant and Luk Siu Fung AT THE SAME TIME to strike back at and kill Yip Ling.

This seems highly improbable. Yip Ling Fung was an excellent fighter in his own right, but Old Sabre Tyrant was one of the most powerful fighters in wulin...more powerful than Luk Siu Fung and Sai Mun Chui Sheut combined, and then there was Luk Siu Fung himself...it seems unlikely that Yip Ling Fung could brush off EVEN ONE of them (let alone both), ESPECIALLY while mortally wounded.

Is this a crazy adaptation addition, or did the novel actually have it play out that way, and if so, then WTF?!
