Well, the fights do look kind of cool. Anyways, if I were to watch this, it will mostly be for the YK MNC couple...

Additional thoughts on above trailer:

~Some shots look like taken from a drone and fast forwarded and slightly too obvious/cheap feel to it. A good director will make a drone shot look like an expensive helicopter/airplane shoot.
~I wished they would resort to fantasy type magical CGI powers with pretty colors. Fight effects look kind of dull b/c of darkish effects
~They should get the SFX team and director fro Ice Fantasy to work on their next Jin Yong adaptation. Cinematography in IF is simply outrageous.
~ Whatever happened to Gordon Chan's 3D LOCH movies? No more words about them...

I guess you've never seen Demi Gods & Semi Devils 1997. The fights effects were very bright and colorful, almost fantasy-like. This LOCH 2017 is a very stark contrast. Very dark and "gritty" almost it seems.

Now, I'm not asking for 1997-type pretty colors reproduced. Just LOCH 2017 could use more brighter colors for SFX...


For example:

Xiao Feng's dragon palm at 1:12 in DGSD 97 clip below. I haven't actually read any Jin Yong works, but doesn't Guo Jing like uses the same dragon palm moves in LOCH? Anyways, IMO, only the SFX team from Ice Fantasy could re-render such scenes justice with modern CGI:

I don't know, man. It's only a 2 minutes trailer. Hopefully not the BEST action scenes from the show.

But what I've seen I am not yet doubtful it will have 'contact' fighting that Wuxia supposed to have.

Demi Gods 97 fighting scenes are not that bad, there are at least 2-3 memorable close interaction fights if I remember, but people looks more real human-like and the sceneries are not fake background so that kind of made up everything for me.

From the trailer, i think the technology are quite good bc places look realistic enough, but for sure the feeling of lacking naturalness still exist there. The colors are dull and darker than what I expected. This looks very similar to Loch 08 style, a bit xianxia like.

All I want is longer fight scenes and good ending. 2008 version was Pretty good at extending alot of fights except for guo jing vs mei chou fong.

Hope this one makes the dragon palm look cool as well and show more variations. Same with 9 yin classics I want them to go deeper and show the other techniques.

08 Version still one best in terms of character development cgi was over top but I can't blame them for trying to bring Hu ge back into other projects at the time.
08 would be one best if they would've gave Hu ge his hair style at end in the beginning as well as do better cgi. They also had to recast hongqigong and Do alot of reshoot since some scenes u can tell Hu ge post and pre accidents scenes.

I think this one looks more darker more like zjz versions. I also think because of yz production his are bright color which I like , this version could be dark in color but as long as they have good acting,cgi , bgm, and action choreography it should be good. That was only thing I can't stand with zjz production was the sound effects, bgm, lighting hair flying every where etc.

Wow. I'm so excited now for this. I think more like I'm happy and glad for Michael Miu to be in period drama again and it being LOCH is even better. I'm getting a whole Golden Snake Warrior (role which he played before) vibe from his Huang Yaoshi here.

Wow. Ray Lui as YiDeng. Ray Lui is not a stranger to monk roles too. He's played Da Mo in the 1986 series Dharma and Master of Zen (2000). I'm not sure I like Central Divinity or ZhouBoTong's actors.

I agree, but I would correct you by saying Huang Rong, her daughter looks like her mother, not the other way around. Since the hen was there first before the egg. People say you look like your mother or father, not mother look like daughter. It's respect. But anywho, that's just a small detail. Looks like a cute family.

Don't think anyone can accurately judge a show before they watch at least a clip or actors acting.

Without seeing acting/dialogue I am going to just say this the 2 minute trailer is good looking enough.

Only 1 week until airing, wonder when will the Music Video, clips, trailer with dialog all be coming out?

True. But this is also the same studio that uploaded the entire uncut DGSD 2013 with Eng Sub on YT. They still got all the DOMD 2014 up on their Youtube channel. We'll see where it goes.
