I've been hearing Ice Fantasy may get a sequel mini-series of 16 episodes set in modern times. Supposedly the story is about the re-incarnation of the main lead characters.
Any other Mainland China TV series with a mini-spin-off after airing?

Yes, Journey of Flower 2. The story was set in modern time. Also about reincarnations.
