    Default TVB's short obituary video

TVB released this on Youtube recently, updating us about some of the familiar faces from TVB serials who we may not have seen for a while, and to inform us regarding their passing. While some like Sun Jit Hing were known to be quite old (he passed away at 83), I can't believe So Hang Suen passed away in her 60s. Guan Ching, tragically, also passed away in his 60s.

Some of the others were covered under their own threads - Wong Wai, Austin Wai, Newton Lai, Kong Ngai and Chan Hung Lit, but now we have so many more to miss and remember in our hearts. It's like losing so many old friends whose esteemed company we grew up with.

Thanks for sharing. So many people in that video were in SOD '96 eerily.

We've lost a few others who were also not documented in this video: Susanna Au Yeung Pui San, who passed away from cancer last year, and Chan Chen Hua, a star of early 1970s TVB who is probably best known for portraying the protagonist Fan Ga Shu in THE FATAL IRONY (1974).

They left out Bao Fong too.. I suspect with Susanna it's because she had retired from showbiz for quite a few years by the time she passed away, while these veterans had continued in the industry. Austin wasn't in serials anymore but still appeared on the big screen in supporting roles.

I'm under the impression that Bao Fong passed away long before the timeline of this obituary...back in 2006? That's more than a decade ago.

Oh wow, that long ago? Maybe I've just lost track of time - I just remember reading about Bao Fong, Kong Ngai and Wong Wai all here on SPCnet, and it seemed that they weren't very far apart. Kwan Hoi San too. I guess time really does stand still when people depart sometimes.
