Did LMS kill a monk that knew 6MSJ at the start of ROCH?

so i randomly was scrolling through old series and saw in ROCH 1995, Li MoChou (LMC) fought a monk at the start of the series. While fighting, that monk used 6MSJ on LMC, where she easily dodged it but got injured by another move to fake her death. Later she ambushed and killed that monk.

But anyways, did that monk really know 6MSJ? i thought that was the best martial arts in DGSD

not sure, never read the book lol. but it definitely caught my attention when i heard it since i just watched DGSD a month ago and it was a strong move.

LMC also mentioned that monk came from the Heavenly Dragon Monastery (天龍寺) in the series

ROCH was written before DGSD.

There were revised editions, and Jin Yong (as far as I know) did not slip 6 Mak Divine Swords references in later editions of ROCH.

for sure, if we talk about ROCH novel, 6MSJ never appear anymore in ROCH, any edition of novel remains same. so we can say that the martial arts is already missing from jianghu.

about LMC, once she did try to kill her lover, but stopped by a monk , which the monk's name was not mentioned, and that monk made her promise not to kill her lover and family for "years", that's why LMC only start searching his lover again to revenge only after a few years , just to find out his lover was already dead

did LMC eventually kill that monk? in the series, he died to LMC 15 years later. the monk supposedly knew yideng's disciple and told the 3rd disciple to save LMC's lover.

I'm pretty confident TVB added those details. 6 Mak Divine Swords and Heavenly Dragon Temple were artifacts from DGSD, and I don't think they were ever mentioned by Jin Yong outside of DGSD.

no sentence that said the monk is killed in novel , but i believe he was alive, if not, how can he stopped LMC and made her promise?
that unnamed monk never appear again in the novel.
TVB version added a monk with 6MSJ just to make LMC looks very strong i believe

that unnamed monk seems pretty strong to stop LMC in 1 move though, what if he does know 6MSJ, he might be the #1 fighter in LOCH/ROCH since his appearance is 10-15 years before ROCH starts.

Considering that he appears in every adaptation of ROCH, I would say he likely did appear in the novel. Not much seems to be known about him other than he apparently has ties to 1 Deng. Might be a sect brother of 1 Deng's.

I can't say for other adaptations, but ROCH '83 said nothing about his origins.
