Default How old is Emperor Qianlong in Book And Sword and FFOSM?

How old is Emperor Qianlong (1711-1799) in Book And Sword and FFOSM? According to Book and Sword 2008 with Adam Cheng as the Emperor Qianlong, Heshen (1750-1799) is one of his important officers. Heshen started to work in the palace as a imperial guard in 1772. Therefore, Book and Sword took place after 1772 so Qianlong is older than 61 year old. FFOSM took place after Book and Sword. Hu Fei wasn't even born in Book and Sword. Does it mean Qianlong was a very old man at the end of FFOSM when Hu Fei was over 20 year old?

in TBTS, there are 2 different clues, one said 35 years, the other was 40 years, but i prefer 35 years (10 years more than chen jialuo).
Qianlong does not make an appearance on Fox (in the novel)

Well, if Heshen is in the novel then Qianlong should be much older than that. Heshen started to work in the palace as an imperial guard in 1772 and Qianlong was born in 1711 so Qianlong should be at least 61 years old. According to B&S, Heshen is already an important officer of Qianlong.

In the final chapter (ch.20) of Book and Sword the empress dowager says: "你現今四十多歲啦,還要娘做甚麼?". So Qianlong is in his 40s.

The bulk of the novel takes place 1753-1758 or 1759. So Heshen's inclusion is anachronistic.

Something wrong with Book and Sword 2008 then. Heshen is in the series.

Heshen is in the novel too. Jin Yong just decided to go against history here for whatever reason.

Yeah. QianLong (1711-1799) was a lot older than Heshen (1750-1799). When QianLong was around 45 years old, Heshen was still a kid.
