Default Eureka! I have created a time machine

I have created a time machine that goes back to 1995!

It was 1995, 15-inch 800x600 monitors were the norm, what kind of monitor did John Carmack use to code Quake?

From CNET specs, we see most 15-inch CRT monitors have a viewable area of 13.8 inches (diagonal distance).

Using pythagorean theorem (a^2+b^2=c^2), we can calculate the horizontal width of the viewable area (aspect ratio 4:3), which is ~11 inches.

The Time Machine (That goes back to 1995!):

Take a 21.5 inch LCD monitor with a native resolution of 1920x1080. Set the screen resolution to 1360x768 and stretch to full screen. 800 pixels across is exactly 11 inches! (Just like a 15" CRT monitor in 1995 with a native resolution of 800x600).

Start me up: Watch CNET's early coverage of Windows 95, back in 1995:

BTW, in 1995 there were two common monitor resolutions: 640x480 and 800x600.

Know who got it right? Neither.

640x480 pappa bear (too small) by IBM

800x600 mamma bear (too large) by VESA (headed by NEC[Japan])

720x480 little bear (just right) by some dude from Thailand looking to write his PhD thesis in the Thai alphabet

This the reason I hardly trust Japanese engineers and think Mainland engineers are better. Americans and Europeans are the pappa bears. Japanese are the mamma bears. The other Asians are the little bears. Japanese products and stuff are great, but they're not of the baby bear types!

FUN FACT: We know that America fears Huawei so much coz they have the best engineers in the world. Let's see if this is true...

A while ago, Huawei launched their very first desktop PC computer with a 23.8 inch 1080p monitor. So why did Huawei go with 23.8 inch and not 21.5 inch? (You can find lots of 21.5 inch monitor models from various companies like Lenovo, LG, Acer, Asus, etc.)

Becoz if you set the Huawei 23.8 inch desktop monitor at 1440 pixels across and stretch to full screen, it's the same as a 14 inch CRT monitor back in 1995 displaying a horizontal resolution of 720!

    640x480 good
    800x600 better
720x350/480 best! <- This where Huawei is at!

On any monitor, after setting resolution to a close one, can tweak the resolution by a custom aspect ratio to achieve the Huawei 14 inch CRT monitor at 720 horizontal resolution look...
