It just turned Spring where I live.
In our garden, we have a shrub that's just starting to show some buds where flowers will bloom. The buds are closed, but when I went to take a look, most buds have 2-3 ants nipping away at it.
The funny thing is, since the buds are closed, they can't be bitten off by the ants. And there is no dew on the buds. Ants are still there a day later nipping away.
So I'm like, the *** r u eating at ants? I see no parts of the buds that were bitten off like u see caterpillar teeth marks on leaves.
Does anyone know why those ants are gathering at the closed flower buds? Or maybe they're not ants, they're some kind of termites? BUT y r they biting and biting at nothing and still there days later?
