Not going happened because YG would have passed away long time ago.

Not likely. You may come for a surprise if YG was still alive
For, it maybe the other way around if you have not fully mastered Xiaoyao's arts.

I wonder what @Ken Cheng would do if YG was still alive and finished off @CC in one stance?

    -Run away or fight valiantly?

ZBT already showed the blueprint. You atrack his non-arm. If you have speed like the Flash or DFBB, just fly over to his right and attack him from there.

At the world-class level, your off-hand/off-leg needs to be at least 80% of your strong hand/leg. World-class football strikers, basketball guards, boxers etc., all need to strike/finish with their off hand/foot. It's physically impossible for YG to do this. Against worse opponents, his power works but against similar level opponents, his weakness is easily exposed.

That was why YG created Sad Palms.
When he unleashed Sad Palms, did the author said YG was at any disadvantage against ZBT or JLFW?

Once YG activated Sad Palms, ZBT was mostly in a defensive mode.

YG with happy Sad Palms (with only one arm) was going to defeat JLFW ~200-300 stances.
Once full-powered was unleashed, YG defeated a level 10th Dragon Elephant Prana JLFW, who was equipped with his wheels, in 5 stances.

And we have not seen post-16 YG equipped with the HIS.

In real life, YG may be at a disadvantage but this is Wuxia fiction.

Yang Guo couldn't easily beat Zhou Botong, Sad Palms or not. He could engage him in an internal battle, and he'd be confident of eventually winning, but only by severely injuring ZBT a la Hong Qigong and Ouyang Feng, and he wasn't willing.

OTOH, ZBT couldn't force YG to use more Sad Palm techniques than the ones YG had already used.

Neither definitively held the advantage over the duration of their fight. ZBT only submitted so that YG would show him the rest of the Sad Palms.

In a duel of Greats, I think it's a given that even the winner is likely to sustain some injury, just not as serious as those of the defeated opponent.

You are absolutely right. At the beginning, ZBT used the Left-Right technique to attack YG's missing arm and YG simply had no answer. ZBT was beating him so bad that Guo Xiang could easily see and she intervened to stop the beating.

Then later ZBT decided to fight fair and stopped using his L-R technique to attack YG's missing arm. Then YG broke out the Sad Palms and evened out the fight.

At that point, whatever YG threw at ZBT, Sad Palms or not, was easily neutralized by his Empty Fist. YG couldn't harm ZBT. ZBT couldn't force YG to reveal his Sad Palms moves. So the only way to settle this fight was to force an internal battle. Only here did YG have an advantage simply because ZBT was 60 years older than him. In terms of martial arts, both sides agreed to consider it a draw.

If ZBT continued to use the L-R technique, he would have an advantage. Because YG couldn't lauch Sad Palms from his sleeve, his sleeve was always going to be handicapped against ZBT's full arm. But ZBT decided to fight fair and that's how YG could get a draw out of this match.

    What fairness?
After YG unleashed Sad Palms, ZBT had to use both arms and everything that he had to defend.
The author stated that YG's power was overbearing for ZBT.

YG than decided to stop the fight, but ZBT kept insisting, so YG used 9yin to defend and repeated the previous Sad Palms stances to agitate ZBT.
After a short period, ZBT was no longer himself because his vigor has moderately been depleted (he got tired).

If YG did not announced each stance before he attack with Sad Palms, ZBT would be in a more dangerous situation.
And all YG need to do is drag the fight out, until ZBT's vigor is low and use his overwhelming power to defeat the old ZBT.

If both were serious from the beginning, YG would get stronger as the fight prolong and ZBT would get weaker due to his age.

In a prolonged fight, YG would have the advantage and a very high chance of defeating ZBT.
