Default Mid-Tier Matchups # 15: Ho Juk Do (HSDS) vs. Wong Yung (ROCH)

In an alternate timeline, Kunlun Three Saints Ho Juk Do has an unfriendly run-in with Gwok Seung and her friends, Shaolin monks Gok Yeun and Cheung Gwun Bo at the Shaolin Temple, as was seen in the early chapters of the actual HSDS. In this timeline, however, Wong Yung (three years after ROCH) shows up to help her wayward younger daughter. Ho Juk Do challenges Wong Yung to a duel. How will this go?

Wong Yung was able to overwhelm Lee Mok Sau without even using her best martial art, so she was pretty formidable outside of the Greats-level fighters.

LMC considered weaker than Mongolian Mercenaries while the merceneries itself was "afraid" to HZD so logically HZD > LMC which on par or a bit better than prime HR IMHO..

When Wan Hak Sai met Ho Juk Do, Wan was already mortally wounded and in no shape to fight anyone. I don't think he was afraid of Ho Juk Do because Wan already knew that he was imminently dying, and had just enough time to say "the book is in the oil (gorilla)" before losing consciousness. There was never a question of fighting Ho Juk Do because Wan Hak Sai had already been mortally wounded by Cheung Gwun Bo and was a talking dead man.

Well YKX was wounded by XXZ not ZJB both of the merceneries fight each other over of 9 Yang and the reason why he talk about 9 Yang to HZB maybe he "respect" or even "afraid" to HZD due his "superiority" in martial arts..

Wan Hak Sai and Siu Seung Tze had fought over the 9 Yeung Jen Ging, it's true, but both died of wounds inflicted by Cheung Gwun Bo when the two ended up at Mt. Hua, where all five New Greats were gathered to pay their respects to the late North Beggar Hung 7 Gung and West Poison Au Yeung Fung. Yeung Gor taught Cheung Gwun Bo four strokes that the young, future Cheung 3 Fung used to mortally wound the two villains. Siu Seung Tze died first while Wan Hak Sai was able to get away and hang on long enough to encounter Ho Juk Do and try to tell him about the whereabouts of the 9 Yeung Jen Ging.

I remember also being told that the reason Wan Hak Sai told Ho Juk Do about the 9 Yeung Jen Ging was that in his dying moments, Wan had a fit of remorse for his lifetime of greed and wanted the treasured martial arts manual returned to its rightful owner (Shaolin Temple). Knowing he would not live to do this, Wan Hak Sai hoped Ho Juk Do would at least inform the Shaolin elders about the manual's whereabouts.

ZJB did beat them with YG's help but I don't think he was strong enough to inflict mortal wounds on them. XXZ was mostly injured by JY's auto-protect 9Yang.

On the way to Kunlun, XXZ and YKX fought each other over the manual but XXZ died first because of the inner injury from JY.

In any case, they never fought HZD. Though I think HZD can beat them pretty easily. HZD is superior to everyone at Shaolin (except JY). Though Shaolin was mediocre in those times, they should still have fighters stronger than HR, YKX, XXZ. At least, Wuse, who is a close friend of YG, should be on that 50-something level.
