I always thought Divine Healer Sit's medical knowledge was something he acquired from his family heritage and not from his martial arts apprenticeship to Mo Ngai Tze.

I'm going by what PJ and others have said, but Sit apparently got his knowledge from WYZ, while Xue Muhua, who's in the above list, was Sit's student, and got even less of the original, yet was already the most renowned healer in wulin.

Basically this. Su Xinghe claimed he only got a fraction from WYZ.

And XZ after reading some XY books, can re-attach optic nerves with eyeball swaps on 1st attempt.

I think a lot of it was leftover mess from 1st edition when XYP was written by JY like some out of this world magical fairy sect where WYZ could only comprehend less than 20% (stated in 1st ed. text) of the main XY manual.
