Default Mid-Tier Matchups # 116: A Tournament of Wulin NooBs

In this first Mid-Tier Matchup for 2023, we're having a Mt. Hua Sword Tournament-style attrition fight, but the condition is that the fighters are all in their youthful days before receiving their best techniques.

    Participants:

    1. Deun Yu before learning any martial arts.

    2. Hui Juk when all he had was Shaolin basic martial arts training.

    3. Yau Tan Tze before acquiring the Yik Gun Ging/Yoga/Ice Worm.

    4. Gwok Jing with only Mongolian wrestling and ten years of martial arts training from the Gong Nam 7 Freaks.

    5. Yeung Gor after completing basic Ancient Tomb Sect training.

    6. Cheung Mo Gei when his only martial arts skills were what he learned from his parents, Tse Tsun, and maybe his Mo Dong Sect uncles (no 9 Yeung, no Keen Kwun Dai Loi Yee, no Tai Chi techniques).

    7. Ling Wu Chung before Dook Goo 9 Swords, Fa Gung Dai Fat, and Yik Gun Ging.

All seven meet on Mt. Hua. Last man standing wins.

I think Linghu Chong would win the title not only due his "skills" but also due his "experience" since he is quite well known in wulin for at least 5 years especially among 5 Sword Schools as Huashan's eldest disciple as well as Yue Buqun's "successor"..

Ling Wu Chung is definitely the most polished of the seven. Gwok Jing, Yeung Gor, and Cheung Mo Gei might give him a bit of trouble if they gang up on him, but the DGSD guys might be completely irrelevant here.

Yeah he is more "proficient" in terms of skills and experience since he is almost 10 years older than The Condor Trios..

The one problem he might have is that there are three of them and only one of him, and among them, they can throw a variety of different techniques against him.

Battle of attrition...last man standing wins. The weaker ones will likely gang up on the strongest one to get him off the board before turning on each other.

Well i wonder if The Greats fight like this during Huashan Duel even Hong Qigong refuse to "gang up" with Huang Yaoshi and Guo Jing against Ouyang Feng..

I think the First Mt. Hua Sword Tournament was likely something like this. After all, a five-man elimination fight would be difficult to work with everybody fighting one-on-one. Who would go first? Who would go last? It makes more sense if it's every man for himself and the last man standing is the winner. That doesn't mean, however, that a few of them might not unintentionally combine their efforts.

I highly about it being The Greats is not only about "martial arts" but also about "pride" that's why Hong Qigong and Huang Yaoshi's refuse to "gang up" against Ouyang Feng and Huang Yaoshi refuse to fight Hong Qigong when he "tired" except against Jinlun when Zhou Botong say isn't Huashan Duel anymore so they would "gang up" against baldie 🤭🤭🤭🤭

Trust me, Duan Yu will become sworn brother of the other 6 and ZWJ will become the medical doctor for those who are ill or injured, Xu Zhu will try to stop all the fights there.

Zhang Wu Ji learnt both medicine and toxicology from Hu Jing Niu while staying in the butterfly valley, while Xu Zhu learnt more specialized on the toxicology (Talisman) created by Carefree sect (through Tianshan Tonglao), and amazingly perform eye surgery on Ah Zi.

In terms of injury healing both perform mass healing thanks to their abundant inner qi (of course Xu Zhu have some advantage on free 70 years inner qi)
