Default What Happened to the Mount Hua Peak Tournament 华山论剑 After ROCH?

The Mount Hua Peak Tournament 华山论剑 is the ultimate pugilistic world tournament that is held every 20, or 25 years (i am not sure) to determine which martial artist can claim the World No. 1 title.

However this tournament after it was held a 3rd time by the end of ROCH, albeit by only amateur pugilists, seemed to have faded in obscurity.

There was no mention of it whatsoever in HSDS.
    Why is that?

By the HSDS era, it would seem most martial artists at the time were obsessed more with becoming 武林至尊

Is the tournament even held at all at that point? If not, why is it not?

It would seem strange that all wulin sects or pugilists will give up holding this tournament to vie for World Number One.

    What do you think?

The Huashen Tournament was started by the original Five Greats to see who would be the worthy owner of the Nine Ying Manual. It's safe to say this tournament died along with the original Five Greats. The greatest masters by the time of ROCH, Guo Jing and Yang Guo had really no interest in keeping this tradition alive, as they didn't have anything to prove or any manual to covet. They mostly spend their time fending off the Mongol invasion. By the time of HSDS, this tradition was probably long forgotten.

Also I think HSDS lack of great-level fighters which mean only Zhang Sanfeng Zhang Wuji and Guo Xiang could considered as a "Greats" while in L/ROCH we have lot of great contenders that's why they held 1st and 2nd Huashan Duel to decide which better among them..
