    Default Quick name question about 8h6h

    Which name is the correct one?

    I've seen BaHuang LiuHe WeiWo DuZun Gong and I've also seen BaFang LiuHuang WeiWo DuZun Gong: which one is correct?

    Also, what does that mouthful of words mean in English?

    Ech, never heard of this so I can only guess which words they stand for ^^;

    BaHuang LiuHe WeiWo DuZun Gong
    BaHuang = Ba4 Huang2: tyrannical emperor - but I doubt it's this combo.
    LiuHe - no idea
    Wei Wo Du Zun = sort of like "ultimate", literally "where only I rule" ie. "I'm the best".

    BaFang LiuHuang WeiWo DuZun Gong
    BaFang = Ba1 Fang1: Eight dimensions, ie. all-encompassing, everywhere.
    LiuHuang - no idea again. Six emperors? Oo;

    In the first edition, it was called something like "Tianshang Dixia Weiwo Duzun Gong." When JY revised DGSD, he changed the name to Bahuang Liuhe Weiwo Duzun Gong.

    So where does BaFang LiuHuang come from?

    Also, can anyone finally tell me what BaHuang LiuHe WeiWo DuZun Gong mean? LR tried mightiest to answer, but she had no context, so it's hard for her.

    Bahuang isn't Ba4Huang2 but Ba1Huang1 so it definitely doesn't mean Tyrannical Emperor.

    I just read that Lanny Lin referred to 8Huang6He Weiwo Duzun Gong as Everywhere, I am the only boss stance. I like that translation

    C'mon, how can that sound better than "everywhere in all directions I reign supreme"? I mean, that's the ultimate badas*s kungfu name, a name that'll scare the babies right out of crib!

    Too bad we don't know much about it, except it's the Chinese plastic surgery.

    (just on the name alone, it'd be so cool if it were better than YJJ...)

    According to my online RPG, Jin Yong Online, it's Ling Zhou Gong's "Ba Huang Liu He Wei Wo Du Jun Gong", and it's one of the two really powerful neigongs within the 11 sects - the only one being able to match it within the 11 NPC sects is Wudang's "Chun Yang Wu Ji Gong". The other good neigongs are all outside the 11 sects, but I digress..

    The "huang" isn't "huang" as in Emperor or Yellow, but as in "Wasteland", "Wilderness" or "Barren". Having not read the book I did wnoder when it was used, though - these things are not normally translated to the screen, or sometimes even the comics.

    Presumably since this in JY online, the martial arts have links to JY novels. But I'd never heard of Wudang's "Chun Yang Wu Ji Gong". What's that?

    Default Actucally...

    The 'Huang' in 8H6HWWDXG means a long distance.
    The word can mean waste land, but also means lands that are far away.
    So, 8Huang means up the greatest distance in all 8 directions.
    6He means up down L/R font back.
    Means everywhere.
    The whole name, therefore means:
    Throughout all the 8 extends and 6 directions, I alone am supereme.
    The orginal name was changed because it's mocking the buddha.
