Anita Mui was an extremely wonderful singer and a talented actress. She starred in several movies with Leslie Cheung & Julian Chueng's girlfriend (can't remember her name now). Also guest starred in several musical video with Andy Lau.

Heard that their mother was diagnosed with the same thing... but it was discovered early so she was "saved."

I was very shocked too after I heard about her passing. I grew up listening to her songs and seen a lot of her movies in the 80s & 90s. She usually paired with Chow Yun Fatt. I am so sad. Just last week I was telling my husband that she had cervical cancer and life is too short. Today, she passed away. Sad to say that talented or good people don't last & don't live long, Heaven had to take them away

It seems that HK Canto-Pop business was already suffered a lot from the death of Danny Chan Bak-Keung and Leslie Cheung. Now, another star died, Anita Mui. It was obviously a sad news for HK fans in general and HK Canto-Pop business in particular. It is not easy to see such a talented singer.

This is very sad news, may she rest in peace. Although I don't know her, I feel very sad to hear this news. I remember when I was a kid and she became very popular, she was all over the news. She always seemed to me to be the Chinese version of Madonna, she was so bold. I agree with you all, this was definately not a very good year...hopefully 2004 will bring luck and good health to everyone.

im really saddened by the news of anita's death. im never a fan of her. but i think she's a good person, very active in charity projects (remember the charity concert they held that's against sars? i think she's one of the organizers) i also admired her courage in facing her illness, surely her last concert this year is very memorable. rest in peace anita

Cherrie: Chan Bai Keung died like.. what eight or ten years ago??!! It was around the period when Teresea Teng and Wong JiaJu (from Beyond) died. He died cos of overdose of sleeping pills or something like that.. couldn't really remember

Ya.. i was surprised when I heard the news as well.. not a fan of hers thou' but liked her in the role of Yuhua in Rogue. Thought she was a lady of character and a star with presence.

Cause Chan Bai Keung died 10 years ago.

Danny Chan Bak Keung died in 89 or 90. I love his songs and his acting too.

i was in LA at the time listening to the radio when someone called and asked for the station to play an anita song, and he was like "and best wishes for anita to heal and get better" then after the song, the radio person came out and said she's dead, i was sooooooooo shocked!!!

she's had such a hard life, when she was four, she and her sis and her mom formed this "band" and becuase her dad died when she was really relaly young, they had to perform at parks, and etc in order to get money to survive, and then she disclosed that she had cancer in sept, and now after three months she's dead! it's soooo sad (and it is genetic)

my cousin told me this. this year, artists with the chinese character wood (mu) in their names died...leslie cheung (chang kwo rong, the rong had mu), ke shou liang (the ke with mu), and now anita mui (mei yen fang, the mei). and the creepy thing is, they all died in a tuesday!
