Since SPCNET is an Canadian website... with the new law that allow people in Canada be able to exchange music or other medias. Would this change the rules for SPCnet ban on anything related to downloading and uploading?

Far as I know, the website is governed by American laws.

O oops, sorry for the comment I always thought the creator of the site was from Canada.

I think is the location of the host of the site... that is the key.

For example lets say I share music and movies on my ftp site. I have a Canadian provider. It is okay. But for example i used an American web host to upload my music and movies... then I think is a no no.

As a side note, I found the court decision did not really allow file sharing. Only (re)defined what is considered sharing.

The judge said that merely putting a file in a (public) folder is not sharing.

The owner must advertise and/or upload the file.

What if you run Kazaa, Morpheus, or BitTorrent? Doesn't that mean you actively advertise and upload, thus, share?

If SPCNET has banned file sharing, let's not give SC more headaches than necessary. Want file sharing? Do it elsewhere.

My point wasn't to give SC any headache... it was just a technical questions about something that was illegal but now is being acceptable if the site was in Canada.
