Large army... unnecesary?

well everytime i see a wuxia person going to assassinate a high official or sumthin, they just go in and like 50 soldiers come and all die in like 5 seconds for nuthin, and the high official usually live becuz he has wuxia body guards..... i mean if those 50 people would juss stay, they wouldnt of died.

in real war, apart from good strategy, large army is surely needed. It is true that 1st class wuxia fighter can kill more than hundreds ordinary soldiers, but their stamina are rather limited and perhaps a bit vulnerable to archers' attacks as well.

Yea.....no matter how crap the foot soldiers are ur still gonna want lots of them because it gives u a sense of security.

You would still need a large army. No matter how good a fighter one is, one cannot be everywhere at once. Even if you're the Janitor Monk, how are you going to put down uprisings in Lin-an, Guangzhou, and Fuzhou all at the same time?

Remember that the TV series makes fighters much much more powerful then the novels describe. Fighters in the novels can't do the TVB stunts where they jump up 30 metres and blast tons of rocks into bits from 50 metres away or blow 50 soldiers to death with 1 palm blast.
