New section please!

Not really sure where to post this suggestion thread other than here. Sorry if it's on the wrong spot.

Just a suggestion here,

It would be good to have a new section called, Kitchen, or Cooking, or Cuisine. My idea is that everyone would be able to talk about food and share techniques on how to cook them. I believe many people here are food lover and is willing to share secrets or ingredients of cooking to everyone.

Not sure if you guys have watched the Japanese Cooking competition called Iron Chefs. I love it. and I do wish too that I can talk about some of the cooking style with the others. and the best place, I thought, would be here since this forum is one of the best english based asian forum.

I was thinking of creating a new thread in academia, but this topic is not suitable for a single thread. Therefore, I am suggesting that we should have a new section for food lover. What do you guys think?

I'm not speaking on behalf of my admin or the other mods, but this is just my opinion.

-The long version--
I think since the cooking and sharing ingredients are pretty much new idea in SPC forum, it's better off to post a thread in Academia since it does have to do with culture and such. I think your idea is good but you have to think of the consequences too. In the midst of people sharing ingredients in a separate cooking forum, there will be some people who are honestly wanting to learn, those who like to share their ingredients, and there are people who just there to post comments and at times they'd use one smilie, one word, one line, and eh it might turn into spam.
We all want a friendly community, however, this is a forum, not a chatroom.

I say just start a thread in Academia and see how it turns out.

Is not bad idea to dump off topic such as Cooking in the academia (which will reduce off topic in the Open Debate forum) but wouldn't it turn to another general forum?

which would lead people to post a lot of differnt things in it.

Remember we already have school related, books review, technolgy support (outside the site), and now cooking... it could get really messy and the mod might have a hard time to mod it.

Just a thought.

Proflove, I've got to say this is a pretty good idea. I like this idea, hehe, I am a food lover myself.

Anyways I do agree with what SS said about if we start a whole new section on it then things might get a bit "crazy." Hmmm...is it possible to have different sections in Academia?

I think it would make things a bit "cleaner" and more "organized" Gotta go ask SC if thats possible to do that. Hehe, gotta remember first though.
